Deb Gibb

Josie and Jodie

March 23, 2021 by Deb Gibb

Hello World!

We are Josie and Jodie, two 11 month old Bichon/Maltese pups. Our foster parents said to tell you that I, Josie, am a cute bundle of love and playful energy and that Jodie is a sweet and gentle cuddlebug. We weigh about 10.6 and 10.5 pounds respectively now and are almost fully grown – so we won’t be quite as big as most bichons are supposed to be.

I am happy romping around playing with doggie toys or snuggling with Jodie. I also like to try to wrestle with my doggy foster sister. Dad says sometimes it’s a three ring circus at our house. Mom says that Jodie and I like to play with one another and that I’m the “initiator. She says that when we are finished with all that ‘play stuff’, we lie down quietly and take a nap together- happy to have worn off some of our puppy energy!)

Dad says I’m more of the “explorer dog” type – and that the back yard is a perfect place for me to do that. He says that both of us like to hang out in his office while he works (and we snuggle) then we give doggy kisses because both of us LOVE to be with people!) Oh and there is something REALLY cute that we both do! (Well, there are actually LOTS of cute things we do but (drum roll please!) we like to watch dogs on TV! We will sit for minutes on end to watch any dog that happens to be on any channel. We cock our heads and listen for all we are worth (and that’s a lot!) Mom and Dad think that we are super smart, too.

Now for my sister, Jodie…Mom says she is a sweet little angel and that she has the cutest ways about her. If you sit down to read a book or watch TV, Jodie will curl up next to you and stay there forever. Dad says that Jodie has a very sweet and playful spirit – and if you meet her in person, you will fall in love with her big brown eyes and all they communicate. Well, I think she’s pretty cute too but I don’t know that her eyes are more expressive than mine, Come on now, Dad.

When Bichon FurKids found us we were pretty scared, very skinny and were terribly matted as well. We had somehow survived living on the streets- despite how little we are! Now Jodie and I are brave, not scared, and our hair is growing back beautifully (after being shaved quite a bit). We are drinking good water and eating good food! (Mom says no table scraps) and we have a yard to run and sun in and doggy foster siblings to play with if we choose. And we are smart and SO want to please! We mastered the doggy door already and know to go outside to do our ‘business’, then come in and sit nicely for a treat!

Because we are young and have a lot of exciting new things to learn, we need people to teach us. Once we are adopted, Bichon FurKids also wants us to attend doggy obedience class so we can be the bestest little pups in the world.

Our Ideal Home:

  • Someone home most of the time
  • An active family with kids age 7 or older – other youngish FurKids are ok too!
  • A family committed to training and further socializing us
  • A consistent and loving environment
  • Must have yard and sun to play in

Experience Level:

  • Recent experience with a young, active pup a plus
  • Previous experience as a doggy parent
  • Have had dogs as an adult

We have been through SO much together that we must also be adopted together- so if you are interested in meeting us, please complete our adoption application and we’ll be in touch.

Tail wags and cuddles,

Josie and Jodie

Callie

January 21, 2021 by Deb Gibb

Hi Everyone,

My name is Callie – and I’m three years old and 21 pounds of lovin’! I have soft, fluffy white hair and big brown eyes that shine. My foster Mom says I’m a sweet, smart and affectionate cuddlebug who is looking for my forever home.

In my previous home (before I became a FurKid) I didn’t get a lot of attention –so I’m making up for it now! I have had lots of interactions with other pups (I don’t care for crazy puppy energy or their sharp teeth though) and some people. (This COVID thing makes it more difficult for me to meet new people but Mom thinks if people go slowly with me I do pretty well.) And once I know you I bond like Super Glue!

I’m not bragging but Mom says to tell you that I’m housebroken (and crate trained), like to ride in the car, and prance on the leash. I’m so good that I get to sleep in the Big People’s bed, too! And there is no doubt that I’m all girl and full of promise.

My Ideal Home:

  • Someone home most of the time
  • Another active, playful dog around my age would be nice
  • Kids over 7 who are gentle
  • No cats please

Experience Level:

  • Have had dogs as an adult
  • Recent/current dog experience
  • Rescue dog experience a plus

I would benefit from some good training (Mom already taught me to ‘sit’ and I mastered that quickly) and I would love to learn how to do even more things. So if you are looking for a little bundle of love (like me) please complete our adoption application. I can’t wait to meet you!

Hugs and snuggles,

Cute and Captivating Callie

Pippi

January 21, 2021 by Deb Gibb

Hello People!

My name is Playful Pippi – and I’m a sweet, bouncy and joyful Doodle of two who weighs 24 pounds and comes in a cute package! I have a sweet face to match my spirit and am a long-legged little colt for whom every day is a happy day. Did I mention that I have a curly white coat, big brown eyes and Mom says I always look like I’m smiling. (That’s because life is good!)

Every day is filled with new experiences. You see, before I became a FurKid I never had a home with people who paid attention to me or gave me any training. Now I live with a wonderful foster Mom and Dad who care for me and teach me all sorts of new things like how to “sit” and “stay” and “down” and tells me how smart I am! I have a warm bed and get all the food I need and have had a doggy foster sister to share my life with as well. Life as a FurKid is GREAT.

I’m housebroken and like to show how smart I am every day! I love to ride in the car, go on walks (walking is my happiest activity of the day!) and play. I’m great with people I know and am getting better at getting to know ‘strangers’. I don’t warm up right away so you will have to be patient with me in the beginning. But once I get to know you, it’s a different story. When Mom or Dad come home, for example, after being away I run up to them and bounce like a bunny, filled with excitement, then fling myself at them in wild abandon and wag my tail (which looks kind of like a bunny tail.) I’m just bursting with happiness!

After a long walk (1-2 miles) I arrive back home and do the Bichon Buzz (Zoomies) for a few minutes, showing my happiness, then I settle in on the couch next to my foster sister for a good night’s sleep. (I’d really like to sleep in the Big People’s bed all night but only get to do that in the morning; then I cuddle with Dad for all I’m worth.)

My very favorite thing in the world is to be with my people. Mom says I yearn for attention – and finds ways to get it. I would do best in an active, structured and loving home with need somebody to give me lots of love – and I will give it right back.

My Ideal Home:

  • Someone home most of the time
  • An active yet structured environment (a firm hand)
  • Another playful dog around my age would be a plus (but I’m a bit selective as to who I like)
  • No young children
  • Adults or family with kids over 12

Experience Level:

  • Recent/current dog experience a MUST
  • Willingness to work on training
  • Rescue dog experience a plus

So if you are looking for a sweet, playful, lovable (but not needy) pup who is still a diamond in the rough, are willing to continue my training and understand that I am still working through a few quirks (for example I cannot be crated) then please ask for me.

Wiggles and kisses,

Pretty Intelligent Precious Playful Independent that spells Pippi

Toni and Tori

December 20, 2020 by Deb Gibb

Hello Everyone!

We are Tori and Toni, a very special bonded pair. I, Tori, am Toni’s grandmother and she is my darling little grandbaby. We have been through an awful lot together and we are very lucky to now be FurKids.

Our situation is both special and unique. You see, as a senior citizen and a woman of the world, I have been enjoying the sunshine and fresh air of my foster’s home. This is a first for me as I previously spent my life in a crate having puppies for many years. It appears that I passed my very sweet disposition on to them, as Toni attests. As for me, I’m a very gentle pup who is trusting, loves to be held and be near you. While my hearing is diminished and my eyesight is limited, my little spirit is full of love and light – and thankfulness for my life now.

Then there’s little Toni. (Even though she weighs a bit more than I do at 8 pounds I still think of her as little Toni.) She is eight years old and about 8.8 pounds. Toni is a beautiful little girl that wants to be your best friend. She’s into human touch and being with her people. Toni will follow you around the house and want to sit on your lap to just feel warm and loved. Because Toni’s very friendly and excellent with people, she loves to go wherever you go including riding in the car. Toni likes to look out the window; if she could sit on the lap of a passenger she would sleep there all day.

Now I’m not bragging but Toni knows her name and listens well. She comes when she’s called because she’s extremely agreeable. We both have a special food that we eat that has helped us to gain weight (we needed to desperately) and become stronger. We get to walk in the yard, bathe in the sun and take all the cuddles we can get. (I also give our foster Dad gentle kisses when he holds me because I know how much happier my life is now.)

Our Ideal Home:

  • Someone home most of the time
  • A nice yard to walk and sun in
  • Adults or a family with respectful children (since we are so little!)

Experience Level:

  • Have had dogs as an adult
  • Recent/current dog experience
  • Rescue dog experience a plus

So if you are a unique home and are looking for two little munchkins who are cuddly, small, gentle, companions who are grateful every day that this chapter of their life is filled with love and wonder, please ask for us. And remember, we must be adopted together.

Tail wags and love,

Tori and Toni: Treasured, Trusting and Thankful FurKids

Sporty

December 20, 2020 by Deb Gibb

Hello World!

My name is Sporty and I’m a cute, sensitive and snuggly little Maltese boy that you might call a “portable pal”. I LOVE to go on walks and rides in the car – and, at 10 pounds, you can take me just about anywhere!

Now my life as a FurKid just started but I’m already learning how much good there is in the world! When my family dropped me off at the shelter they gave my name and age (I’m 11) then said “Goodbye”. I was sick and malnourished and soon also became bewildered. There was so much noise around me and I didn’t feel well at all. My face and mouth hurt a lot and I was not used to being held or cuddled. But let me tell you I’ve already decided that snuggles, cuddles and, oh yes! massages are the way to go—and I’m happy to be making up for lost time.

According to my foster Mom, I’m shy and a bit skittish initially but once I get to know and trust my person I’m a very different kind of fella. A calm and loving environment is perfect for a pup like me. I’m not a couch potato (more on that in a minute) but I do love to lie quietly on Mom’s chest, snuggling for all I’m worth (and she says that’s a lot!)

Speaking of what I like, well at the top of the list is walks! I walk well on a leash and have boundless energy to explore the neighborhood. Of course I’m so cute that people want to meet me. But I have a job to do on my walks and I’m doing my best to show Mom what a great little guy I am.

And, unlike many other FurKids, I am comfortable being the only pup in the house. Now I do get along with other dogs (Mom has two) but I don’t “need” them as I don’t have separation anxiety. When Mom is away I’m happy to sleep contentedly in my dog bed or on the sofa until she returns. At that point I greet her with a tail wag and kisses. That’s my way of showing how grateful I am for her loving care!

My Ideal Home:

  • A patient person looking for a loving companion
  • Someone home most of the time
  • An adult (or adults) fine
  • No other pups required

Experience Level:

  • Had dogs as an adult
  • Recent/current dog experience
  • Rescue dog experience a plus

Mom is hoping that there is a patient and loving person who is looking for a little diamond-in-the-rough (or is it ruff?) who will form the same kind of bond with me that I have with her. That would make me VERY happy and very grateful!

Spunky Stylish, Sensitive and Sprightly Sporty

Tippi

December 11, 2020 by Deb Gibb

Hello New Friends!

My name is Tippi the Terrific and I’m a cute little bichon that you might call a “portable pal”. You see, I’m fully grown and weigh only nine pounds —so you can take me just about anywhere (and I’d really like to go, too!) My foster Mom says I’m a dainty little morsel (she calls me an Elfin beauty!) who is small but mighty —and packed with personality! Mom says I’m a delightful little sprite who will follow you from room to room, with a disapproving shake of the head if you are not headed to the kitchen.! She says I can’t help it if I’m adorable and always have a cute smile on my face, with my tiny pink tongue peeping out.

Dad says I’m mellow, friendly with both two and four-legged “creatures” alike (including cats) and easy to get along with. He says I really seem to love children (!) and wag my tail excitedly when I see them. Dad also says I’ve mastered the command “Be Cute!” to perfection —100% of the time!

Did I mention that I rarely bark, am housebroken (and that’s not a typo!) am very calm in the car (I go into my car bed and fall asleep) can walk (and like to walk half a mile) and am GREAT company! And while I’m more of a mature woman (I’m 11 years young) I will run to greet you with my tail wagging madly! And (drum roll please) I love to play! If you smack the ground with your palms and look at me, I’ll do a play bow and run in circles to show you how much fun we can have together!

My Ideal Home:

  • A person or people who are home most of the time
  • Someone looking for a companion who likes to do things together
  • A nice yard to sun myself would be great
  • I can co-exist with another pup or cat but can also do well by myself

Experience Level:

  • I’m pretty easy so I don’t require someone with tons of experience – just lots of love
  • Recent/current dog experience is always helpful

Mom says that she knows she is biased but that I am a wonderful little pup who is going to make someone SO happy. I’m a sweet and adorable little cutie deserving to be loved and spoiled. Just looking at me is heartwarming. Oh and did I mention that I love going into the garden to “help”? I’m known as the little garden gnome because while I love to sun myself in the yard I’m also there to make sure Mom is pruning everything correctly. (Dad says we work exceptionally well together!)

So if you are looking for a darling, happy and mellow little girl who will make you smile and be your bestest companion, I’m applying for the job!

Please complete an application and ask for me. As Mom says Tippi stands for Terrific + Ideal + Personality Plus+ Perfection+ Independent

Tail wags and bichon kisses,

Tippi
