Vivi

September 2, 2021 by Deb Gibb

Vivi Must Have:
— Someone home most of the time
— NO other FurKids (as I like to be the center of attention)
— Adults only
— No children or grandchildren
— Someone committed to training her

Experience Level:
— Recent dog experience a must!
— Rescue dog experience a plus!
— Experience with behavioral training a real plus!

Hello People!

My name is Vivi and I’m a sweet and quite sassy little girl of five looking for a forever home. My foster Mom says I’m very loving and affectionate — and as feminine as they come. I’m all of 12 pounds, am housebroken (and use the doggy door) and I love my crate. I even put myself to bed at night if I’m tired (but Mom lets me come into the Big People’s Bed in the morning for a cuddle or two or three!)

Dad says I’m a diamond in the rough. He and Mom are doing their best to teach me the proper way to behave in the world. I’m definitely making progress but will need to continue my ‘learning’ with someone who is a super smart and VERY savvy dog person. If that sounds like you, please read on!

While I am long on (good) looks and cute as can be, I’m also pretty willful. I like to do what I like to do (which is why I need someone who is smarter than I am and will guide me into perfect behaviors.)

I walk well on a leash and am learning to relax in the car. I do best on short drives and like to listen to music.

I do love to cuddle and am known for springing up into your lap to cuddle at the slightest provocation and wanting you to pet my head ( but only my head, please!). If you are lying on the sofa, I love to roll on top of you and make cute little “snorty” noises as I turn around.

Unfortunately I’m not a pup that is good around children. If you have children or grandchildren that visit I’m not the one for you. Sorry! I’m an ‘adults-only’ kind of pup. Mom says before I became a FurKid I was adopted simply because I am cute. So I formed some bad habits that she is helping me to overcome. Since I’m smart, I’m definitely learning what to do and not do.

I’m also a bit selective about making friends. I bark when people come to the door (Dad says I’m a great watchdog) but when I know someone, I’m much friendlier. I also guard my toys, which is why I’m best as the only pup in the house.

Because I wasn’t successful in my ‘past life’ I’m hoping to make up for lost time – and am looking for adopters who will appreciate my femininity and my affectionate nature – and will continue to work on my training so I can become the best little girl that I can be. Mom says there is no doubt that I’m well worth the effort but you have to know my signals so that I can be successful.

If I sound like the pup you are looking for please let us know. It will be a very special home to which I am adopted as I’m a very special kind of pup. If that sounds like you, please send an email explaining your experience and background to bfkapplicants@gmail.com If you sound like you represent a fit, we will be back in touch.

Tail wags and cuddles,

Vivacious, Intelligent and Very Independent Vivi

Archie

July 16, 2021 by Deb Gibb

Hello World!

My name is Adorable Archie and I’m just about the happiest and handsomest bichon you will ever meet. Now I’m not bragging – that’s what Mom tells everyone. She says that I’m a very active, playful and social bichon boy of one – and that I’m 26 pounds of love all wrapped up in a cuddly package (Silly Mom! I’m a FurKid, not a package).

Dad says I’m just a guy who loves all humans and all other dogs! I love to play and I love to run. I love to be petted and enjoy full body “massages”. In fact I will lie on my back even for strangers (well, I never really met a ‘stranger’) until they pet me. And did you know I also like to watch TV? Mom says I “make conversation” because I get engaged with the other dogs I see on TV!

I think walks are the bestest fun (Mom says I’m great on a leash and also that I’m very strong!) and rides in the car are pretty neat, too! I’m housebroken and working on my commands. I already know several commands (like ‘Come, ‘Sit’ and ‘Stay) and I’m easy to train because I am treat motived.

After a hard day playing, racing, snuggling and responding to commands, I sleep nicely all night long Mom and Dad are teaching me that there is nothing better than a lap to sit on and a family to love — and that home is the best place to be.

My Ideal Home:

  • Someone home most of the time
  • An active lifestyle
  • Another active, playful young dog
  • Adults or a family with older kids would be fine

Experience Level:

  • Have had dogs as an adult
  • Recent/current experience with a puppy a plus!

All in all I’m quite the package and I’m ready to find my forever family. So if you have another young active furkid like me who has been waiting for a doggy brother to play with (If you don’t have one, do not apply!), you like to go for walks and rides in the car, have a secure yard for me to explore and enjoy then I might be ‘the one’ for you. And there is no doubt that I will be the most loyal and loving of companions.

Tail wags and happy smiles,

Amazing, Adorable and Amicable Archie

Willie and Muppet

July 9, 2021 by Deb Gibb

Hello World!

We are Muppet and Willie Wonka, two darling young pups. Our foster parents said to tell you that I, Willie, am a goofy little Havanese mix bundle of love and energy and that Muppet is a silly and playful, long-legged malti-poo. We weigh ten pounds each and are amazingly fun to be around.

I am happy romping around playing with doggie toys, wrestling with Muppet (or another of my foster doggy brothers) or dancing around on my back legs. Dad says sometimes it’s a three or four ring circus at our house. He says that he and Mom call me the Jumping Bean ‘cause I try to jump into their arms or laps whenever I have the chance! Mom says that I also have the cutest way of giving kisses, that I’m a darling little boy and that you will want to snuggle with me any chance you get as I’m just that cute. (Can you tell she likes me?)

Now for my best friend, Muppet. Mom says he is a sweet little guy that he has the cutest ways about him. He loves to snuggle in your arms and around your neck whenever he gets the chance. Muppet also loves his little bones and chew toys. Mom says he does have one trait that will make you smile. You see Muppet likes to hide bones and toys everywhere and knows how, and where, to find them. (He says you can never have too many bones for a rainy day!) Muppet is smart, entertaining and really good figuring out how to get attention — and I have the personality and adoring looks that will melt anyone’s heart the first time they meet me.

Now about the snuggling part, we love to be cuddled separately of course, and love to be held and snuggled by any human.) Playing with toys and each other is our favorite past time. We personally don’t understand why, other than feeding us, Mom and Dad would want to do anything other than cuddle or play with us all day long.

We are both potty trained and use the doggy door. We are also very curious about the world and want to please. Every day is another opportunity to learn more ways to make the humans around us smile.

My Ideal Home:

  • Someone home most of the time
  • An active family would be great
  • A yard to run and sun in
  • Committed to training us

Experience Level:

  • Have had young dogs as an adult
  • Recent/current dog experience

Mom says is that our forever home will be very special — because it will have two of the sweetest fur kids in the world living inside. And Dad agrees. He says anyone who meets us will be a happier person for the experience.

Willie WonkaMuppetSo if you are interested in meeting the two of us, (please know that we will only be adopted together) please first send an email indicating your experience and history with young pups. If there is an alignment between what you share and what we need, a volunteer will be back in touch to ask you to complete an adoption application. You may send that email to bfkapplicants@gmail.com — and we’ll be in touch really soon.

Tail wags and doggy kisses,

Coco

July 5, 2021 by Deb Gibb

Hi Everybody!

Please allow me to introduce myself because I’m a pretty special pup. My name is Crowd-Pleasing and Cuddly Coco — and I’m a friendly, affectionate and fun-loving girl of four or five who is as sweet as sugar and as lively as can be. Mom says I’m the best little girl she knows. Dad says I have confidence and spirit plus I’m smart, loyal and a great companion. (Did I mention adorable and charismatic?)

When it comes to doggie goodness, Mom says I’m the complete package! I have lots of puppy in me – so my favorite thing to do is play! I love my tennis ball and my toys and I’m so smart that I taught myself how to fetch. I will keep you entertained and will play as long as you’d like. But I also love to cuddle and will cuddle for all I’m worth!

Dad says I love my walks and go on walks three or four times a day. (Just take out my harness and I am ready to go on any adventure) and I also ride beautifully in the car! I come when you call my name (that’s a really good thing according to Dad) and I really like my human brother and sister (they’re called ‘teens’). I’m good with my doggy foster brothers, too.

I’m eager to please, very smart and fun to live with – because everything I do is entertaining and there’s always a smile on my face. Mom says I’m adorable, cute and a very special little girl!

Besides being special in all the ways I’ve been described, I’m also special in one other way. I have these special teeny tiny pills that I have to take every day so that I won’t have this thing called a seizure. Now I haven’t had one in two years since I now am taking my pills – and we hope I will not have any again. (That’s why I’m so glad I have my medicine.) If you didn’t know I had ever had one you certainly couldn’t tell – I’m just as active, playful and happy as my doggy foster brothers.

My Ideal Home:

  • Someone home most of the time
  • Adults or a family with older kids

Experience Level:

  • Have had dogs previously
  • Recent/current dog experience a plus

Mom and Dad are hoping you will see all my cuteness and happiness and want to love me forever. I truly deserve a family to call my own. Will you be the one for me? If you think you are, please first send an email indicating your experience and history with bichons. If there is an alignment between that and what I need, a volunteer will be back in touch to ask you to complete an adoption application. You may send that email to bfkapplicants@gmail.com

Tail wags and Kisses,

Charming and Captivating Coco

Tipper

July 2, 2021 by Deb Gibb

Hello Everyone!

I’m Tipper, a darling little puppy who is three months old and weighs about 6 pounds soaking wet. I have a soft white coat and apricot-tipped ears, which is why I’m called Tipper. My foster mom says that good things come in small packages and I’m an incredibly cute ‘package.’ (In fact Mom says I’m an ‘angel.’ I’m not sure what that means but she smiles when she says it!) Dad says I’m the sweetest little guy you could ever hope to meet. Speaking of meeting…I like to meet new people and especially love to meet other dogs. Give me an opportunity to play and I’m your guy.

I’m a little scrapper of a puppy with a sweet personality and a happy smile. I hop like a bunny when I’m excited (and that’s a lot!) and I listen intently to everything around me. You see I was born blind so I listen very carefully, lift my nose in the air and cock my head to the side. Mom calls that my ‘listening face’ and says it’s absolutely adorable. Dad says although I’m blind pup I have no idea that other dogs (or people) can see. I don’t act like anything is different or “wrong” with me.

Since I’m still a puppy, I’m learning new things every day. The most important thing I’ve learned so far is “careful”. I know when Mom says this I need to calm down a bit, or watch for a step etc.. Mom and Dad have been saying “You found me” when I come over and that makes me really excited. Mom has started trying “touch” as well and I’m learning very quickly since I’m smart and anxious to please!

I love to ride in the car (Mom says I’d prefer driving but since I’m not old enough I’m learning to sit nicely) and I love to be petted and have my belly rubbed. (I’m teaching Mom and Dad how to do that and they’re learning really well!)

My Ideal Home:

  • Someone home most of the time
  • An active family with older kids and a young furkid please! (I need a little bestie please!)
  • A family willing to train and further socialize me
  • A consistent and loving environment
  • A single level home would be great

Experience Level:

  • Recent experience with a young, active pup a plus
  • Previous experience as a doggy parent of young pups

Mom and Dad agree that I’m a great little guy with a lot of potential! (Aww, thanks Mom and Dad!) I would be happy in almost any family situation where there’s another young active furkid or two. If I sound like the kind of boy you are looking for, please fill out an application and ask for me.

So if you are looking for a sweetheart who is happy, adventurous, bouncy, curious, playful, and rambunctious then look no further. Just complete our application– and let’s get together.

See you soon.

Hello People!

I’m Demi, a darling little girl of about three who, according to my Mom, is just plain adorable. Mom says that good things come in small packages and at only 9 pounds I’m a darling little ‘package’.

There are lots of things that I do that are just plain cute. For example, I get so excited when Mom wants to take me for a walk, or give me a treat, that I literally hop up and down. Then there’s this really cute thing I do with the doggy stairs. Instead of going “up” the stairs like most pups, I “back” up them. And when I sit on the doggy stairs I put my front feet on a lower step than my back feet (I really am comfortable that way, honest!) Oh and I also hop like a bunny on my walks and I love to run, too!

Before I became a FurKid, life was very different. I was on the street for a while then in someone’s back yard. I had some doggy buddies which helped but very little interaction with people. About a year ago I was “rescued” by people with good intentions. They put me in the first of two foster homes with people that worked all day. I got to hang out with the dogs that were there which was fine but didn’t do well with the people. So I got moved to a different foster home and it was the same situation. Shortly after that the people in that rescue group moved and all of the pups, like me, needed to find another rescue to help them. Well I was one of the lucky ones because I became a FurKid!

Once I got to my foster home I found a Mom and Dad who do not work outside the home and a doggy foster brother who is a senior guy (but I try every day to get him to play with me anyway.) It took me about a week but I decided my Mom is a really nice lady and I started to be comfortable around her. I let her take me on walks and rides in the car (I’m very good on both) but I still don’t let her pick me up.

Another classic block…start writing whatever you want.

My Ideal Home:

  • A woman (or women) home most of the time
  • Another active, playful dog around my age
  • Another dog to show me the ropes
  • No men
  • No Kids (I’m just too fearful)

Experience Level:

  • Recent experience with an active pup a plus
  • Rescue dog experience
  • Experience with behavioral training

My wish of all wishes is for a special someone who is very kind, patient and willing to work with me so that I can become the little girl I was always meant to be. When that wish comes true I’ll be the happiest little FurKid alive.

Because I have a number of on-going needs, if you are a woman (no gentlemen please!) who has a young small-ish FurKid currently and is interested in potentially submitting an application to adopt me, please first send an email indicating your background and a little about your FurKid to bfkapplicants@gmail.com. If there is an alignment between what you describe and what I need, a volunteer will be back in touch to ask you to complete an adoption application.

I wish. I wish.

Darling and Dainty Demi
