Here are our furkids who are in foster care and ready to begin meeting Forever Families. As we frequently update this page, please check back for more information, new bios and photos.

Hello World,

My name is KC (the King of Cuddles) and I am an affectionate bichon boy about three years old who is a very lucky boy.  Let’s start with why I am so lucky.

I once lived with a family but they decided they didn’t have time for me. That made me very sad! Now I have a foster Mom who takes me on walks and rides and a foster Dad who gives me treats (for being so good!)  I have a doggy foster brother who thinks I’m really neat and I have lots of people that I can cuddle with!  I no longer have to be alone (Didn’t I tell you I’m lucky!).

Mom says that I am a GREAT traveler and that I just love to go for rides in the car. When we are riding I like to watch what’s going on outside initially –  then I relax and go to sleep ‘cause Mom knows how to drive really well and doesn’t need my help.

Want to walk? Well, Dad says I am a super fantastic walker. Not only do I walk well on a leash, but I can be very charming and engaging, too! I like to say Hello to the people we meet on our walks, as well as the other dogs. Dad also says that I am smart, have already learned the ‘house rules’ - and that I want to please. He says that I am an amazingly loving little guy who is full of love … and have big bright eyes that shine and smile because now I’m a lucky little guy!

I enjoy being with my doggy foster brother and enjoy the company of people and other dogs. Mom says I am a very LOVING boy and that I want (and deserve) to be loved in return. My Forever Home should have someone that I canKc3 walk, sit and ride with -- and a doggy brother or sister would be really nice, too! And if you want to give belly rubs, well… I have a lot to catch up on so please bring them on!

So if you are looking for a little guy who is sweet, smart, wants to please and has tons of love to give, please complete our application as I am waiting to meet you.

Demsey1

Hey Everybody,

I’m Dempsey the darling!  I am between one and two years old and cute as I can possibly be.  I am a whopping 7 pounds of wriggly, wiggly happiness -- and there is nothing that I would love better than being with you.

I am very eager to please and I love my toys! I throw them up and catch them, but sometimes my ring toy gets stuck on my nose and I have to wrestle it off which makes Mom laugh at me.  (She says I am hilarious to watch!)  I am teething so I like to chew, but I only chew my toys ‘cause I am a very good puppy. Demsey2

When Mom picks me up I snuggle so close and cling to her so tight she says it feels like I will never let go. I just love being held, it makes me happy and warm inside.

I love to do the Bichon Buzz with my foster sister, and I love all grown-up people. When little people rush towards me it scares me – so  I hide. I also get frightened sometimes when we are taking our late evening walk.  There are spooky sounds outside.  So I nuzzle up real close to my Dad and he protects me until we can get home where it is safe. Dad says I am very brave in the car though.  In fact, last week we went for a long trip in an RV and I had a really good time.

Both Mom and Dad say I am really smart.  I have already learned to sit and can remember where I bury things -- and I respond to phrases that I recognize. I watch my foster doggy siblings and learn from them.

I am just an adorable bundle of fluffy love who dreams of my own forever family that I can grow with.  Please complete an application so you can choose me.

Tigger

Hi World!

I’m Tigger, and that’s a wunnerful thing!  My Mom says that, just like my namesake, I have great ‘gams’ and a bounce in my walk. I’m an adorable puppy, about seven months old, and I have little hints of apricot in special places.

Mom says I am like a ‘live’ stuffed animal because I just relax right into whatever form of loving is taking place.  I even let Mom put me on my back and let everything just fall to the sides (in hopes that a belly rub is in the offing.)  I love to snuggle -- but I am also a bit independent as I prefer to sleep on the floor near Mom and not on the bed.

Mom says I am fascinated with balls! Any size, any shape, any size. Why I even tried to pick up a soccer ball with my little mouth!  Sometimes when we go for a walk, I carry oneTigger2 of my balls with me.  But I don’t like to share my balls with dogs.  My toys are mine and so are my balls.   If you leave my toys alone, however, I am quite friendly and will even give a big kiss to other dogs.  Mom says I’m somewhat ambivalent about cats (I’m not sure what that means except sometimes I think cats are okay, while other times I like to chase them.)

Because I am still a playful puppy, I have a lot of energy and need to be able to run.  I would be happiest in a busy home with an active family who likes the outdoors.  I need a backyard I can play in and kids to play with me. If someone is there to keep me company, I am a happy boy.

Mom says I’m almost housebroken already!  She takes me out often and I have only had a few accidents (she says that they were special circumstances!) I am very smart, I know the ‘No’ word, and I stay out of the kitchen when food is being prepared.  I never bark and I can play independently, I usually enjoy a good Tigger3rawhide or chew toy. I snuggle well too.  I am just an affectionate boy who wants to learn, love and have fun. Oh - and to be someone’s forever friend forever.  How about it? Want to be my special someone? If you do, please complete our application so we can meet!

Hopefully yours,

Tigger the Terrific

Gracie1

Hello People,

I'm Gracie, an adorable year-and-a-half-year old Bichon girl.  I love people, especially women, and gentle children.  In fact I really like to engage with people.  Dad says I like the attention and am a very social little girl.  Want to go for a ride or a walk?  I'm your girl.  Just say the word and let's go!

Because I was not socialized with other dogs (until I became a fur kid) I am pretty timid around them.  I have been going to the dog park andGracie2 I love to watch them play, but I don't quite interact - yet.  I am learning from the other dogs, however.  Now when we get home, I feel quite energized and I jump into a play session with my toys.  I like to play fetch - just me and Dad!  I don't quite understand the concept of playing with other dogs yet, but Dad thinks I will soon.  I have to admit, I do like my big foster doggy sister - she has been teaching me a lot and helping me to gain confidence in myself.

My favorite toy is Loofah dog.  I like to chew on him a lot -- but I am very good about not chewing on other things.  Dad says I like to lie on the floor like a little bear rug, with my legs extended behind me and my little belly hugging the cool floor.  He says I look like a Bichon imitating a polar bear.  (I don't know what that means buGracie3t it makes Dad laugh so I know that's good!)

Dad says that with patience I will eventually come out of my shell, but will probably always be a bit shy around other dog.  I am housebroken (of course!) very healthy and loving.

If you would like a quiet, shy, loving little girl who would spend her life trying to make you happy, then I would be perfect for you.

Liam1

Hi People,

I'm Liam, a one-year-old Bichon boy.  My foster mom says I'm a gentle little guy, that I am VERY, VERY, VERY smart (I have  already learned all the rules at my foster home!)  and am anxious to please.  Mom says I get along well with my doggy foster brother and with children - and that I'm a naturally very social little guy.

Dad says I have already mastered some commands (like sit, stay and come up.  I'm such a gentleman that I want to be given that command before coming into his lap.)  I am a very calm and mellow Bichon who loves a good nap and to lie as close to Mom as I can, with no gaps anywhere.

I really enjoy walks a LOT!  I like long walks and short walks Liam4- in fact, I like all walks!  I am SUCH a good boy that I wait patiently for my walks before I potty so you can tell I'm housebroken already.  I also like walks because I get to meet lots of other people.  They pet me and tell me how handsome I am.  I really like being petted and fussed over.  And I know and love the word "Cute".  That means me!

I like children, watching the scenery fly pass on car rides and getting belly rubs.  (I like that a lot.)  Mom says I am healthy, although I could add a few pounds, and that I have the tiniest and cutest little snore when I fall asleep!

If you thinkLiam3 you could love a sweet, quiet and cute little fluff ball, I know that I could love you back with all that is in me.  I want a family to love me, and to help me to be the best little Bichon in the world.  (Mom says she knows I will be!)

Oh - and you should know that Dad says I am cute, smart and wonderful!  (He wanted you to know that from a man's perspective.)

Kaitlyn1

Hello World.

I'm Kaitlyn, a curious and playful little Bichon girl of one.  I love to watch everything around me and learn about it.  I have beautiful brown eyes with golden flecks and long, long lashes; I also have carmel colored ears.  I love a good walk, playing with my foster doggy brother and sister, and exploring my home and yard.  My Mom says I should be called Curious Georgette, like Curious George only I'm a cute little girl!!

I am at ease with everyone I meet and love meeting peKaitlyn2ople.  Big and small, I love them all.  Mom says I am VERY smart (I learned how to put on my own harness the very first day!) and I am very eager to please.  You see I want to be the very best little girl.

When I play with my foster brother or sister we tumble, wrestle and chase, chase, chase.  Mom says that is called the Bichon Buzz.  All I know is it's a lot of fun and we have such a good time!

Dad says I am very good at telling him just exactly what I want and that I love being around my people.  I will follow them from room to room and nap wherever they are.  My human sister says I am very healthy and quite beautiful.  She says I love to give little ksises and sit with her very sweetly.  Mom says to tell you that I also do the Bichon Wave with my front paws - and that I like to use them to get the things I want (even if it's to engage someone in playing with me.)  You see, I'm pretty cute and clever!
 Kaitlyn3
I am not much of a car dog yet as the motion makes my tummy sick.  I am, however, very good at my potty training.  I rarely make a mistake!  Mom says I am a little girl who is filled with potential and waiting for someone to help me to develop it.  She says she KNOWS that I will bring someone a whole world of laughter and happiness.

So if I sound like the bundle of love and fun you are looking for, and if you want to stare into my beautiful eyes and get soft little doggy kisses in return, please ask for me as I'll be waiting.

Love and kisses,

Curious and playful little Kaitlyn

 Hayden1

Hi there People,

I'm Hayden and my Mom says that I am the most lovable, sweetest and cutest Bichon boy that she has ever met.  I am about three years old, really good with kids and love other dogs (as long as they aren't too rowdy.)  Once I get to know them I can be a real party puppy!  It's just that I'm a little timid at first.

As you can see by my pictures, I am a very handsome fellow -- and smart too.  Dad says I already understand sit and stay, and when it is time for me to go to my crate, I head right in.  I really love my crate 'cause I feel very cozy and safe there.
 Hayden2
Mom says I am a very affectionate little guy!  When you pick me up, I lay my head trustingly on your shoulder.  (She says I sigh contently too...a very quiet sigh of love and acceptance.)

I like people -- and get really excited when my Mom comes home.  I run around joyfully doing the Bichon Buzz.  I also like kids and would be a great family dog.  I love to watch TV with my head in Mom's lap.  I just love being near my people and it's a nice feeling to be part of a happy pack.  Oh, and I love belly rubs too.  A lot!

Like to go for walks?  Well, I'm your guy.  And the car!  What can I say?  The car is just fabulous.  Dad says I hardly ever bark, unless I think my family needs to be prHayden3otected.  And I don't whine because I am so happy to be in a place where I am safe and loved.

So if you are looking for a gentle and mellow boy, who is great with people of all ages and sizes, and has a LOT of love to give, please complete our application - and help me find my forever family.  I'll be quietly watching and waiting...

 Cooper1
Helloooo People

I am a happy, playful, little social butterfly named Cooper.  I’m a 1 year old darling bichon boy -- and I love everyone and everything. I even like cats!  I am just filled with joie de vrie.  Did I mention I speak French?  No?  Ah yes, I am a very cultured puppy!  Not that I’m a puppy – just that I act like one!!  And the only cultures I like are the ones I can roll in!
 Cooper2
I love to play!  To roll around in a dog pile, run around doing a bichon abuzz, chewing on my bones, or just laying spread eagle on the floor and enjoying a belly rub well, as my foster Mom says, “Yep, that’s the true Cooper!  Funny, fun-loving and full of happiness.

Not only am I a joy to have around, I am very genteel in my habits.  I am housebroken, I get along well with others, and I know how to ‘sit’ and ‘come’ as requested.I haven't been around children yet, but Mom says I am so congenial she is sure I would love them.I do love to play.

Dad says that I am a healthy, sweet and loving little boy, who will make some family Cooper3very happy.  I would certainly try my best.  I excel at snuggling, and I will sit with you for as long as you like, or will play for your entertainment.I tell very good jokes, but they are in French, so I act them out and make you laugh.  I am very clever, oui?

If you need a little culture in your life, give me the chance to broaden your horizons.   I have never found language to be a barrier to giving my heart. I am a good, obedient and joyful little boy that just wants to love you.   Je t’adore.

Chance3

Hi Everyone!

My name is Chance (but it could be Lucky!)  and I am an adorable, cuddly 11 pound Bichon puppy who has lived a very exciting life in my first few months on the planet.

One day I was just out taking awalk and I was hit by a car.  Ouch!  That was not fun -- but I am a very resourceful and resilient kind of guy.  Bichon FurKids must have known that about me 'cause they 'scooped' me up and took me to the vet.  He fixed me up as good as new (almost) and I am not in a Foster home with a foster doggy brother, two foster sister cats and a lChance2oving Mom and Dad.  It's just really wonderful being me.

I am healing and learning to walk.  Mom says my appetite is picking up with the additional exercise I am now able to get on my short walks, (and I am getting ready to play with my foster brother and two cats any day now.  Shh... don't tell them yet.  I want to surprise them.)

I have so much puppy love packed into my silky white curls, that I feel like I am going to burst.  I can't wait until I can finally run, and chase and buzz around.  Mom says that I love to grip things in my little front paws, including anyone who picks me up.  If you give me hugs, I hug you right back.  I like to cuddle and put my head into your shoulder.  Why I could stay like that for hours, if you would let me.  I love to be close to my people.  I mean really close!  My name could be Snuggles except that Chance really fits me.  I was lucky to become a FurKid and find people to help me recover and find a Forever family.
 Chance1
I am not yet potty trained because I had previously been unable to do much as a result of my injury.  Now, however, that's changing -- and Dad says I want to learn and do everything right!  I am a very good boy.  I only chew my squeaky toys, am crate trained, (althought I am certainly willing to join you in your bed) and, once I'm potty trained, perhaps we could discuss that.  I like other dogs and even like cats (but don't tell anyone that.  Okay?)  I am such a lover that Mom's pretty sure I would like children too.  I just can't wait to be all better so I can start to play and explore and love, love LOVE someone.

If you are looking for a sweet, affectionate, playful puppy who will cover you with kisses, keep you safe at night, point out interesting smells, and take you for walks....well, look no further!  I am ready (almost), will and and able to learn how to make your life a series of laughts, cuddles and hugs.  When you adopt me, I guarantee it will be the best chance you have ever taken.

I am feeling very lucky!  Can't wait to meet you!

A Bit About Bichons

Bichons and Bichon mixes need to be groomed regularly. When not tended to, their hair (not fur) tends to grow very long and then mat if not brushed or combed. The kindest thing we can do, when we take in a dog in this condition, is to shave it down.

In a matter of weeks, beautiful, white, healthy hair will grow. So, if you see a dog that's available and it's a little short on hair,... know that it will be a beautiful white, fluffy, haired darling within a few weeks.
