Hello Everyone!

My name is Cuddly, Charismatic and Carefree Charlie — and I’m a bichon sweetheart of 16 pounds with love in my heart for everyone. I’m an adorable guy who is a cuddler and a lover, great with other dogs, good natured and simply wonderful with people. My foster mom says I’m very sweet boy, playful, spunky and adventurous (you can ask Mom about that) — and there is no doubt that I am VERY smart! I figure things out really fast and really want to please!

Dad says I like to be wherever he or Mom is. He calls me Super Glue because I bond to people in seconds. There is no doubt that I’m the world’s greatest lap dog – until you get ready for a walk. I love my walks! I’m happy to trot along and see the world. I’m also a great rider (in the car, that is!).

I love the yard (where I can hang out and play with my doggy foster sisters) and to explore the world. I tell Mom that exploring is understandable because I love the outdoors! She calls me Curious George. (Silly Mom. I tell her my name is really Charlie)

Because I’m smart I mastered the doggy door in minutes (making Mom and Dad very proud of me!) I mastered being housebroken. And I also mastered this game called ‘Fetch.’ I’m also great at playing ‘Chase’ and I like being chased as well too. Another way that I show how smart I am is I cock my head when you talk and listen very, very intently! I don’t want to miss a word when someone is talking to me!

Dad says I’m always wagging my tail to show that I’m happy – plus I’m loyal and friendly! I’m grateful to have a foster family who loves and appreciates me and I show them that I love and appreciate them too.

Mom says I do everything well but there is one thing I do exceptionally well: I am the perfect companion! There is no doubt that I’m always ready for kisses and cuddles and would be the perfect family dog.

Hello Everyone!

My name is Irresistible and Inimitable Issa – and I’m six years old and six pounds of Maltese portability. I’m the kind of girl that wants to go where you go (always!) sit on your lap (as often as I can), cuddle under your chin (I do it very well), sleep in your bed (ah, perfection!) and be a part of everything you do. In other words, I’m an irresistible companion with an incredible need for love.

My story is all too familiar. My former family had me from the time I was a puppy and for almost six years. I went everywhere with them and liked that a lot. They dressed me up (I have quite a wardrobe) and life was fine. Then last August I had this thing called a ‘seizure.’ They took me to the vet who gave me these tiny little pills (I take 2 every day and I’m a champ!). And the best news is that I’ve never had another one! But then my family decided to move and didn’t want me anymore. They ‘surrendered’ me to the kind vet who took care of me until I became a FurKid.

Now life is good again. I get to go on car rides (I’m great in a car), go on walks (one of my favorite things to do and I’m simply amazing to walk!), I’m housebroken (I’d love a yard but I’m fine with a walk schedule) and I know a few commands (Sit and stay are my best ones!). My favorite thing to do (other than sit with my human) is to play with my pink squeaky ball. I like to carry it around and will ask you to throw it. Then I will run to catch it and, when I’m all done, I roll on top of it and get a massage. My foster mom says that’s adorable!

I’m definitely the cuddliest of cuddlebugs and, like most of my Maltese breathren, I’m a ‘talker.’ Mom says I’m very expressive and have a lot I need to say. When I meet new people at home or am in new situations I often am scared and barky initially. But when Mom picks me up and tells me “Issa, it’s ok”, I know I’m safe and I settle down right away.

Hi People!

My name is Timmy and I’m a tiny little guy with silky white hair and big brown eyes who weighs in at seven adorable pounds. I’m a cuddlebug, a major snuggler and I’m a ‘portable.’ My Aunties says that means you can take me almost anywhere as I’m so little. But as small as I am I have a heart that’s many times my size and it’s full of love for the people I get to know. (Mom says when she looks down and sees this tiny little creature (that’s me!) looking up at her like she’s my whole world, it melts her heart. She’s right because my human is my everything!)

Before I became a FurKid I was living on the street, then in a shelter where there were five other dogs in my ‘cage.’ I’m a pretty gentle guy and a lover, not a fighter, so I went without meals or much attention. My hair was really matted, I couldn’t even see out of my eyes and I had a very bad cough. To make matters worse the shelter was doing a ‘clear the shelter day’ which meant I was in trouble!

Now I have a foster Mom and Dad who take me on walks, rides in the car (I’m fantastic in the car for hours on end), a doggy foster brother for company (he thinks I’m really nice). Oh and I have laps to cuddle in. I also like to be held like a baby. I lie very still and gaze up at my person with complete love and admiration! When I get to do that I’m just about the happiest little pup in the world!

Probably because I’m so little and cute a lot of people have wanted to pick me up and that includes the little ones called children! Just because I look like a little stuffed toy does not mean I’m a pushover. In fact, I’m very cautious with new people initially – but my foster Mom is working with me to help me learn that I can trust lots of people to be kind and loving like she and Dad are!

Mom says to tell you that I know a lot of things already. I’m housebroken (and get to sleep in the Big People’s Bed), know commands like “sit” and “come” and “wait”. She’s also teaching me hand signals because I’m so smart and like to learn. I also love riding in the car and adore my daily walks. Dad says I strut when I walk, hold my head as high as I can and wiggle my butt! In fact, like most furkids, I need my walks several times a day. It makes me and my doggy foster brother very happy to be in the great outdoors, smelling all the flowers, bushes and trees or enjoying the beach and all it has to offer.

Mom says when it’s play time, I’m “all in”! I LOVE tug of war and fetch. When I run after my toys I’m all gangly legs. That makes Mom laugh out loud! And sometimes, because it has been so cold, I get to wear sweaters. When Mom takes my sweater off, I sometime grab it and start shaking it like it’s a toy. That makes her laugh too!

Speaking of my foster mom, I just adore her. I love to be in her lap or be held and cuddled like a baby! While it takes me a little while to warm up to new people with time and trust my confidence just builds and builds. And then I know I’m safe! There is no doubt that I am looking to bond deeply with my person!

I could stand to put on a few pounds as I’m still pretty thin. Our vet confirmed that when I was sick in the shelter it was in part because I have an enlarged heart. (I now have one tiny pill that I take that makes me feel much better!) If I weighed another pound or two that would be fine and I’d still be a portable. Maybe I could be 8 pounds to match my 8 years. That would make me a double 8 or would that be 008? (I’m being so silly!)

Tenderhearted and Tiny Timmy

Hi Everyone!

My name is Harley and I’m a happy, handsome and huggable Havanese of five weighing in at a mere 12 pounds. My foster Mom says I’m a little guy who is sweet, SMART (more about that in a minute!), cuddly, playful and special. She says I love EVERYONE (two and four-legged alike) and that I have this unique ability of knowing when someone needs a cuddle– and when it is time to play. (I like to cuddle and play equally and do them both well!)

Dad says I approach the world head on. I’m gentle with children and other dogs that I meet and am amazing companion who is always ready for my next adventure! He says I’m housebroken, like to go for walks and rides in the car, knows some commands and learning others and truly wants to please. I get along well with all the other pups in my foster home – and even do well with those creatures called ‘cats.’

When I first came in to rescue I had this thing called a ‘condition.’ Mom says that my skin was hurting and needed to be treated. I’m happy to report that has already happened and I’m better than ever. My hair is growing back (It looks wispy and fly-away at the moment) and I’m one healthy and happy little guy.

Happy, Handsome Harley

Hi Everyone!

I’m a new FurKid named Marley, a happy, silly, goofy, bouncy and loving Doodle who is currently 17 pounds of love and fun in a very cute package. I’m active, energetic, smart (more about that in a minute) and about as full of joy and mischief as a little guy can be! Mom says I need to gain a few pounds as I’m quite thin (but muscular) but that I will probably tip the scales at around 24 pounds once I’ve filled out,

Recently I learned about this thing called a tennis ball. Why it’s just about the most fun thing a guy could ask for. It moves and bounces and runs away from me. So I get to chase it and grab it, then we start all over again. Mom says I also love puppy bones and toys! I had no idea that there was anything ‘so fun’ in the world. (My BFK Aunties tell me that there are– and that as I get to explore the world, I’ll find other wonderful things, too.)

I get along great with other FurKids (especially the young ones that like to play and those that are about my size) Like to go for walks or rides in the car? I’m pretty amazing in the car! I’m also the kind of pup who likes to sit on laps and cuddle, then I’m off to the next adventure. Mom says that I find all kinds of ways to entertain myself – but I prefer an ‘audience’ so I like to do those things when she can observe me.

Speaking of which, I’ve already learned a few things that I’d like to show you. In case you are wondering what they are, I can ‘sit’, ‘shake my paw’ and I do a great High Five! I’m very treat motivated so there are lots of things you can teach me and I’d like to learn. And did I mention that I like to be carried like a baby? Well I am a bit of a long-legged pup but I do thoroughly enjoy that!

Mom says I’m shy and timid pup with new people initially. I usually bark a bit and like to hide, then I come around and can be very affectionate. I’m more comfortable initially with women but will warm up to a patient man who allows me to come around. Raised voices and loud noises take getting used to. I’m learning not to be afraid of them but it takes time.

I also have this thing called separation anxiety. That means I’m not quite confident enough to be left alone, even with my doggy foster siblings. Mom and I are ‘working on it’ and I am learning that I’m safe and not being abandoned. In turn, I reward Mom with lots of loves, hugs and kisses.

Did I mention that I’m also cuddly, cute as can be and fun to have around? It’s all true! I’m learning every day how to be the bestest little guy I can be. And there is absolutely no doubt that I’m a magnetic, magnanimous and motivated little guy looking for his forever home.
