Hi Everyone,
My name is Bailey but I’m often called Bailey Boy and Bailey Bob (and a variety of other nicknames too!) I’m four years old and ten pounds of cuteness and mischief – but I am most definitely not your average pup.
Before I became a FurKid I lived outside, had no socialization and very few manners. I lived with a bunch of other dogs, some that I liked and many that I didn’t. Then one day I was surrendered to a shelter. That was definitely NOT where I wanted to be. So I did everything I could to look cute and adoptable. The good news is that it worked — and I was rescued. But then… my fosters got to find out what was behind all that cuteness.
I’m a unique kind of guy looking for a unique forever home. I’d prefer that I live with a single man who works from home so we can hang out together. (I do that now with my foster Dad, ignoring all the other pups in the house as much as I can.) I go into his home office and lie quietly throughout conference calls and his working. Oh I do go outside to ‘do my business’ whenever I need to but the rest of the time I’m happy just being with him. When Dad has to work on the car or paint a chair or do just about anything I’m there to ‘supervise.’ I tell him I am happy to participate if he’d like and he just smiles.
Mom says she’s an ‘okay backup’, but I really prefer being with Dad. I like to curl up on his chest, put my head under his chin and just cuddle for all I’m worth. That makes me feel secure and confident.
When I meet a new person (or even re-meet someone I’ve met before) I have a tendency to scream this awful scream. (I would do great at Halloween with my scream. Dad thinks I’m trying to protect him and I’m sure that’s part of it. Now I don’t do that with Dad or Mom (thank heavens) but… it’s something that my new owner will need to be patient with until I’m comfortable.
When you read my bio you may think that it’s okay for me to be in a family with a mom or children. Children are a definite NO for me and I’d really prefer just a single Dad if I could. (And I need you to know that my BFK Aunties will not respond to any applications that include exceptions to what they know I need. Sorry!)
