Hello World,
My name is Bodacious and Bewitching Bowie, and I’m a handsome bichon boy who is two years old, weighs 16 pounds and stands about 16 inches tall. Besides being adorable, I am a confident, housebroken, crate-trained, and quite accomplished little fellow! (More about that in a minute!)

Since I got off to a rough start, I have been working with a trainer who says I’m adorable, quirky, cute, independent, food-motivated, and a bit cautious. I prefer to take my time getting to know people rather than immediately throwing myself into their arms. When I know and trust someone, though, I’m a really sweet boy. I enjoy being petted and like being picked up. With other people, I’m more comfortable when I’m the one who comes to them —especially when I’m relaxing in my crate. (A gentleman likes to make his own introductions and I think of my crate as my man cave!)
And speaking of my crate, I really do love having my own special space. I can be a little protective of places I decide are mine, so my Forever Home will need to understand that my crate is my sanctuary and give me that space without trying to handle me while I’m there. My BFK Aunties say a “no furniture” policy is best for me when we first start getting to know one another. With a person who understands me (and is willing to work with me), I definitely do well. In fact, I’m getting better and better at all kinds of things. I’m just looking for someone who will help me learn how to be the very best boy I can be.
Now let’s talk about something REALLY important…
FOOD!
Oh my goodness, do I LOVE food! When I know something delicious is coming, my ears perk up, my little nub tail goes CRAZY, and I may even give you a few “HOORAY!” barks. (Because dinner deserves a proper celebration.) When I get excited, I have another adorable little routine: I put my head down, wind myself up, and then lift my chin into the air for a big bark. My trainer’s family thinks it’s absolutely adorable. Personally, I think they have excellent taste.

I’m actually a pretty mellow guy most of the time. I enjoy being around my people without needing to be the center of attention every second. And I’m perfectly happy when left alone, as I don’t have separation anxiety.
I also have some VERY good manners! I know commands like sit, down, place, let’s walk, no, leave it, and quiet. I’m housebroken, a good little traveler, and get along with other dogs, too! In fact, having a nice canine companion in my Forever Home could be a wonderful thing for me. I’m still learning about the world and how to navigate some things that make me uncomfortable, so I need someone who will be patient, understanding, and willing to help me keep becoming the best bichon boy I can be.

So, here’s the best news of all…
I may not be a little guy who runs up to everyone and immediately announces, “HI! I LOVE YOU!” I like to take my time. I like to observe then decide that you’re okay and I’m safe. And then, little by I will work my way into your heart. That’s exactly what makes me so special.
I have so much potential to give back. So if you have a patient heart, experience, and room in your life for a handsome little guy who is still a diamond in the rough but with lots of potential, please ask for me: I’m Bowie and I’m ready to become the very best boy I know I can be.
Tail wags and a few “HOORAY!” barks,
Bodacious and Bewitching Bowie
