McDreamy

September 5, 2021 by Deb Gibb

Hello People!

My name is McDreamy — and I’m appropriately named as I’m a dream of a pup. I have big brown eyes that look deeply into your soul, a soft white coat (with black tipped ears) and an adorable smile. I love belly rubs, snuggles, walks and rides in the car. If you want to learn more about me, please read on!

Let’s start with my ‘vitals’: I’m two years old, weigh 8.3 pounds and I’m a Bichon mix. If you want to know what I’m mixed with, it’s with cuteness. I have hair (not fur) and Mom says I’m a sweet and happy cuddlebug. (Silly Mom. I’m not a bug, I’m a puppy!)

Now you are probably wondering how an adorable little guy like me ended up in rescue. Well, the short version of my story is that my former owners had a baby and no longer wanted or needed me. That’s hard to believe— and I certainly was surprised! They took me to this scary place called a shelter and boy! was I anxious to get out of there. Auntie Marti got a call and soon my amazing Foster family jumped in their car and brought me to my foster home. Whew!

The experience of being abandoned by my family has left me with what Mom calls separation anxiety. Even though I have a doggy foster brother, and I love having him nearby, I really want to know and be where my people are! As I become more confident that I’m not being abandoned my anxiety will go away. In the meantime, please know that I’m in the process of ‘overcoming’! I need my forever family to take the time to earn my trust, rather than expecting me to jump into their laps and lick their faces.

You should also know that I am a well-mannered young man who loves people. Most of all, I just love to be petted. I’ve mastered the ability to flop on my back so anyone who wants to can rub my belly. Of course that makes me happier than words can say! Mom says that the cutest thing I do is curl up in her lap, look up at her with my (Mc)Dreamy eyes and then fall asleep while she pets me.

Because I am a young guy, I need exercise, love and training (I’m learning commands already and showing my family how smart I am!). I’d love to be with my forever family so we could learn new things together — because my favorite thing in the world to do is to please.

My Ideal Home:

  • Someone home most of the time
  • A LOVING FAMILY WITH ANOTHER YOUNG,ACTIVE FURKID IS A MUST!
  • A family willing to train and further socialize me
  • A consistent and loving environment

Experience Level:

  • Recent experience with a young, active pup a plus
  • Previous experience as a doggy parent

So if you are looking for a sweet little guy who loves to play, has that adorable puppy curiosity, is affectionate, has lots of love to give, AND YOU MEET ALL THE CRITERIA ABOVE, then look no further! I’m the guy you’ve been waiting for!

Wags and kisses,

McHappy, McSweety, McDreamy
