Fostered in San Diego

Hey There, Future Family!
My name is Ricky—and if you ask my foster parents, they’ll tell you I’m a lovable little fox in disguise! I’m a one-year-old boy with bright white fur, soulful eyes, and a playful personality that lights up every room (and yard, and beach). At just 12 pounds and 15 inches tall, I’m the perfect size for snuggles, strolls, and adventures galore.

One of my absolute favorite things to do is pounce on my toys like a mini woodland creature—it’s kind of my signature move. I’ll fetch, bounce, and wiggle with delight. And when I’m done, I’ll give you that sparkly-eyed look that usually earns me a treat or two (it works every time!).
I get along great with other dogs—big and small—and I’ve already made some best pup-friends, including my foster brother, a Bichon mix. I even went to the dog beach twice and had a blast meeting new dogs! I was a little protective of our beach blanket (hey, someone’s gotta watch the stuff), but mostly I was all tail wags and happy hops.
I haven’t spent a lot of time with kids yet, but at our neighborhood picnic, I stayed calm—even though there was a Shiba Inu nearby making me a little nervous. With the right introduction, I could definitely be a sweet companion to respectful little ones.

I ride well in the car (though I prefer to travel on an empty tummy), and I’ve been sleeping peacefully in my crate every night from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.—I’m quite the little routine guy! I’m crate-trained, house-trained, and eager to please. I know my name, I “stay” when asked, and I’ve already learned I’m not allowed upstairs. I may be young, but I’m smart and polite—and I’m ready to learn even more.

Remarkable and Resilient Ricky
