As 2023 was ending we received a request to help a young, friendly, sweet and previously injured bichon It was suspected that three-year-old Rylee had been hit by a car at some time in the past and her owners failed to provide appropriate medical care when that occurred. As a result, her fractures healed improperly making it a struggle for Rylee to move and walk – yet she continued to force herself to get up, to walk and to ‘do her business’, even while injured and in pain.
Rylee will have orthopedic surgery January 10th which will enable her to move freely and live a normal life. She has shown her foster family that she’s an adaptable sweetheart who likes other dogs and people – and quickly fit right in!
Rylee’s post op recovery will take approximately 6-8 weeks. She can be adopted while recovering to adopters willing to work with her, do the occasional medical follow up visits and provide a loving and safe environment for a very special little Bichon.
We hope someone will come forward to help with Rylee’s recovery! Please reach out to Marti by text if you have her number or marti@bichonfurkids.org.
We will be VERY THANKFUL – and so will Rylee!
