Hello New Friends,
My name is Terrific and TenderTeddy– and I’m a 3-year-old Bichon boy with a soft white coat, light grey ears, and beautiful brown eyes that look into your soul. I’m a sensitive little guy who loves nothing more than leaning in close for soft pets and reassurance. And while I may be a little shy at first, there’s a very loving, devoted boy waiting just beneath the surface.
When meeting someone new, I take a moment to feel things out — but all it takes is a calm voice and a few pets, and I start to relax. Once I feel safe with you, my favorite way to say “thank you” is with a sweet, gentle little kiss.
I’m just now learning how wonderful toys can be — and would love someone to show me how much fun they can be, too. My foster Mom knows that there is a pup who is as playful as he is gorgeous (I mean, I am!) waiting to enjoy all the world has to offer. And speaking of the world, I have begun to explore it already. Did you know I love long walks? Dad says I’m an excellent walker and behave beautifully on leash. I also enjoy the backyard, running and exploring everything with curiosity and delight, taking in all the smells and relaxing in the sunshine.
I get along well with other dogs and am friendly with adults. If things feel a bit overwhelming, I’m very good at letting you know I need a quiet break. When company came over recently, I happily relaxed in my soft crate with a peanut-butter-filled Kong, listening calmly while the adults talked.
I sleep comfortably in my crate all night, too —and awaken happily in the morning. I’m a smart pup who is mastering housebreaking, and I know what to do when I go outside. I know commands like “sit” and “come”, and I want to learn more. I’m looking for my forever family who are patient and enjoy helping a sweet boy build confidence at his own pace.
Car rides are one of my favorite things! I hop right in (or accept a helping hand) and ride happily with a big smile on my face. It’s obvious that I’ve done this before and enjoy every minute of every ride – so if you like to take trips (short or long), I’m happy to be your sidekick!
I have a touch of separation anxiety because I really want to be with my people. With a daily routine, time, and reassurance, I’ll grow braver and more secure.
There is no doubt that I’m tender-hearted, devoted, and playful–a gentle boy who just wants to feel safe, loved, and understood. My confidence is growing every day, and I’m on my way to becoming the happy, brave dog I was always meant to be.
