Fostered in San Diego
***
Hello World,
My name is Tender-Hearted and Trustworthy Trixie, and I’m a sweet Bichon girl about 8 years young with an adorable face and loving personality. Everyone who meets me says I’m a very nice girl, and I agree.
My foster mom calls me her “shadow” because I love to follow her everywhere she goes. Wherever she sits down, you’ll find me curled up by her feet, keeping her company. I don’t ask for much — I just want to be close to my person where I feel safe and loved.
I enjoy squeaky toys and will happily toss them up in the air to try to catch them (even if my doggy foster siblings try to steal them!). I’m also eager to please, gentle, and never complain. I’m a very sweet and mellow pup who enjoys quiet companionship and cozy times at home.

My foster Mom says I get along very well with other dogs, including my foster brother and sister, and play nicely with a younger neighborhood dog, too. In fact I like everyone I meet– and am friendly with the little ones called children and the big people called adults. I’ve met young kids at the park and am always calm, sweet, and polite. Cats are still a mystery to me, but I’m happy to meet new friends always.
I’m fully housebroken and will even potty on command! I prefer to do my ‘business’ in my own yard rather than on walks — I’m a lady, after all. I know how to sit, ride politely in the car and behave nicely when left alone indoors.
When I was first rescued I had some ‘catching up’ to do. I was a bit overweight and hadn’t experienced real walks before, but with love, a healthy routine, and encouragement, I’ve lost weight and feel SO much better. I enjoy short walks now and want to continue with them as they are helping me be a healthier version of adorable me.
If I had to describe myself, I’d say I’m easygoing, loving, quiet, gentle, and the perfect companion dog. More than anything, I just want to be safe, happy, and be adored as I deserve to be. (Someone who talks to me sweetly and lets me be their loyal little shadow, like my foster mom, is what I’m waiting for in my forever home.)
