Hello People,

My name is Darling Dickens and I am a very sweet, bouncy, friendly and somewhat goofy bichon mix of two (years that is) who looks and acts like a puppy. I’m told that I am affectionate, playful and friendly – and come in a very cute package!

Dad says I am a happy little guy who is energetic and a very quick learner. I love my doggy foster brothers (and every small pup I meet). Dad doesn’t know who has more fun- the other pups or me! (I think it’s me really!!!)  Playing and having fun is simply what I do! And if my doggy foster brothers want to play ‘chase’ I’m all in!

 
DickensI also enjoy the company of those two-legged ones called PEOPLE! A mellow home where I can cuddle and snuggle when I’m not playing is what I’m looking for.

Anyone who has visited Mom and Dad’s home likes me immediately – and they also like to give me belly rubs. (And how can a guy resist a belly rub?)

Every day I’m learning new things (like how to walk perfectly on a leash) as well as commands (I’m doing those really well). I will also work very hard to please you and make you happy. Although I can be high energy when I’m excited, I also settle down quickly. If you are not able to play with me I’m pretty good at entertaining myself!

Darling, Delightful and Deserving Dickens

Hello World,

I’m Tipper the Terrific, a darling Bichon Havanese of about three (years, that is) who weighs about 14 pounds soaking wet. My foster mom says that good things come in smallish packages and I’m an incredibly cute ‘package.’ (Mom also says I am the sweetest little guy you could ever hope to meet.) Speaking of meeting…I like to meet new people and especially love to meet other dogs. Give me an opportunity to play with another pup and I’m one happy little guy!

I’m a loving, mindful, adaptable, well- mannered and friendly pup who is housebroken and does not mark! I’m eager to learn what is expected of me and to show you that I can master any requests. I already know a few commands and have truly mastered ‘sit’ (because I then get treats when I do that!) Patience is one of my best traits!

I’m basically just happy to be in a nice home where people are good to me and I have doggy foster sisters I can play with!

I love to go on walks and rides in the car (Mom says I’d prefer driving but since I’m not old enough I’m learning to sit nicely) and I love to be petted and have my belly rubbed. (I’m teaching the Mom how to do that and she’s learning really well!)

My BFK Aunties say that I love listening to everyone talk and I think I understand most of what is being said. I may not be able to talk “exactly” — but I do my best to communicate and am very expressive. And I smile a lot!

Tipper the Terrific

Donny and Marie

Hello World!   

We are Donny and Marie, a pair of two year old bichon siblings who are as cute and bonded as we can be. Our foster parents said to tell you that I, Marie, am an outgoing, loving and cuddle-seeking pup and that Donny is a shy, somewhat inquisitive and gentle ‘baby brother.’ 

We weigh 14 and 16 pounds respectively. Even though Donny’s a ‘bit’ bigger than I am, Mom says I look after him – and he relies on me to know that he’s safe. We eat out of the same dish, drink out of the same bowl and generally sleep next to one another. Mom says my devotion to Donny is endearing!

I’m more likely to be the one following Mom from room to room (with Donny following me) and I’m the first one to approach new people with a shy smile and an open heart, as well as expressive big brown eyes! I give very soft gentle kisses that show I appreciate how wonderful my new life is. Dad says that I love anyone who gives me attention and that I like to cuddle with anyone ,big or small. I’m a darling little girl waiting to snuggle and so cute you’ll find me hard to resist.

As for my brother Donny, Mom says he is a sweet and shy guy whose personality is just now starting to ‘emerge’ and who has the cutest ways about him. Donny is curious about everything and is a first class ‘observer.’ (Mom says he likes to carefully watch the world around him.) He makes great eye contact, has the softest coat you will ever, ever want to pet, is super gentle and loyal with a capital L! Whatever I do, Donny wants to also do. While he is still more shy, with a little bit of coaxing Donny is becoming more brave and confident every day.

Both of us like to dance on our hind legs and wag our tails to show how happy we are. We also love, love, love to cuddle in the Big People’s bed ‘cause Life is Good!

Now you’ve probably figured out that we’re both good about the snuggling part. We love to be cuddled separately of course, and to also snuggle with each other. We don’t understand why, other than feeding us, Mom and Dad would want to do anything else!

We are working on being completely potty trained and are almost there. I, Marie, like my walks and rides in the car. Donny is learning about leashes and walks. We are both curious about the world and have shown an ‘interesting side’ to our foster family. You see, we are pretty amazing at climbing. Fences that no other pup even considered scaling we have mastered. Having proven that we could do that once, we tried and have succeeded again. Dad has added fencing where he never thought it would be necessary. And no other FurKid has ever done what we have done! As a result, our BFK Aunties are looking for an amazingly secure environment from which we cannot escape because we’re curious enough to try!

Our Ideal Home:

  • Someone home most of the time
  • Adults or a family with kids over 12
  • Other FurKids are fine
  • A VERY secure environment, preferably with 7 feet tall fences (not with wrought iron) or a townhome

Experience Level:

Mom says that our forever home will be very special — because it will have two of the sweetest FurKids in the world living inside. And our family says that anyone who meets us will be happier for the experience.

Devoted and Darling Donny, Memorable and Magnetic Marie

Munchkin

Hello Everyone!

I’m Munchkin and I’m a totally adorable little FurKid! I’m 9 pounds of love and cuddles in a cute and tiny body. I love to do all the things that bichons love to do like go for walks (I’m masterful on a walk. Did you see my video yet?), cuddles on the couch and hanging out with the people. (Did I mention that I LOVE everyone?) And I’m amazingly lovable.

Mom and Dad said to tell you that I’m a very mellow and sweet little girl of seven – and that sometimes I am so quiet they almost forget that I’m around. Then they hear this sound (it’s me wagging my tail as fast as I can to get their attention) and they say “My goodness, Munchkin. Is that you?” You see I like to hang out with them and enjoy their company. Mom says I’m a very special little spirit and that I touch the heart of everyone that meets me, especially when they know my story.

You see before I became a FurKid my life was pretty hard. I came into the shelter as a stray and no one paid any attention to me. The shelter staff ignored me too and thought I was much older than I am and they thought I was there until it was time for me to cross the Rainbow Bridge. I, however, had other ideas, believe me! I remained the sweet, loving little girl I am and hoped in my heart that there would be a guardian angel who would recognize my sweetness and change my life story. And guess what! That happened!

One day one of my BFK Aunties came to visit. She spent time with me and I was my most convincing self! The next thing I knew I was on my way to an amazing foster family who has embraced me totally! Mom and Dad have made me feel loved and secure. They have helped me master the art of cuddling (truth be told I didn’t need too much practice) and the kitties in the house and my doggy foster brother are fine with me being there. (He’s an older guy who doesn’t interact much. Mom says she thinks I’d enjoy the company of any pup, as I like both human and canine companionship.) Dad says I’m about the sweetest and most accepting pup they have ever fostered. And I get to feel love and human compassion all day and night.

Speaking of night, I get to sleep in my crate but some day, in my forever family, I would LOVE to sleep in the Big People’s bed. Did I mention that I’m housebroken, working on a few commands and grateful for a second chance at what is now a wonderful life?

Magnificent and aMazing Munchkin

Hello Everybody!

My name is Lovable Laddie and my Aunties want me to introduce myself because I’m a pretty spectacular pup. Now I’m absolutely not bragging (I would never, ever do that) however everyone that meets me says so!

My foster Mom will tell you that I’m a very handsome and loving mix of either a Bichon and a Doodle or perhaps a Bichon and Cocker Spaniel. Whatever I am, I have silky off white hair (and boy! did I have a lot of it when I was rescued! Why you would think I was a mop in motion then – but I feel a lot more comfortable now.) Mom says when my hair grows out I’ll be quite stylish — and am quite ‘the looker’ even with my new ‘do.’

If you look at my pictures you will note that I have kind and expressive brown eyes that look straight into your soul. I’m a very sweet and gentle guy who will let anyone pet me (when Mom says it’s ok!) and love to kiss everyone too! At my human grandma’s house there is this big, bouncy puppy who is a bit ‘over the top’. I made sure that my Mom was okay with his bouncy-ness and was ready to protect her if she needed me. Mom said it was very sweet that I was ready to come to her rescue (since she came to mine!)

I enjoy being around my doggy foster brother and sister – and am learning to follow their lead. Mom said I was spooning with my doggy foster sister and she thought that was very cute. Since I’m young and limber I truly enjoy my walks. Mom is going to take me on this thing called a ‘hike’ soon so I can see if I like that, too.

Did I mention that I’m almost four years old and cuddle sized at 21 pounds? I’m loyal, attentive and eager to please. One of my favorite things in the whole world is to cuddle up with my human and hang out,or take a nap or sunbathe in the yard.

My foster family agrees that I’m handsome, kind, loving, well- mannered and intelligent (Gee, thanks everyone). I’m learning some commands — and am so smart I can easily learn more. Want to teach me?  I’m a very good student.  I’m also housebroken and that’s not a typo! Mom calls that the ‘icing on the cake’.

Loveable, Likeable and Loyal Laddie

Hello People,
My name is CiCi and I’m a beautiful little pup with big brown eyes that will melt your heart and a sweet disposition. Although I look like a puppy, and am a little ‘wisp’ of a girl (weighing less than 7 pounds, I’m actually about 8 years old. My foster Mom says I’m a darling and dainty little girl who is devoted to my family and waiting for a quiet, loving home where I can shine.

Although I’m somewhat shy, at first, I warm up quickly when I’m loved! In the morning when I wake up I’m so excited to see Mom that I give her a great big kiss and snuggle up next to her (rewarding Mom with the best snuggle experience she has ever had!) Then I rub my face with my paws (kind of the way that kitties do) and look as adorable as I possibly can.

I also like my foster Dad and my doggy foster sister. She’s a little pup like me and I keep thinking that some day she may want to play with me. Mom initially thought that I might want to be an ‘only’ but having watched me around other small pups she thinks I’d prefer that.

Dad says I’m the smallest, most loving and loyal little girl he has met. He says I’m good in the car (I’d prefer to drive however I’m not old enough yet!) and enjoy my walks. Dad says I’m a diamond in the rough. I tell him I’m not a diamond at all, I’m a furkid! He says that he means that with love and attention I will shine brilliantly!

Mom says that I’m as cute as can be, eager to please, and housebroken. I am also a survivor. You see I was brought to the shelter by my family when I was very, very sick. The shelter people were quite worried about me so they called my BFK Aunties! Within hours of being rescued, I had what was called an ‘emergency surgery.’ It was ‘touch and go’ for a few days but my indomitable spirit came through. You see, I knew I had been rescued by some amazing people and I wanted to get on to the next chapter of my life!

When you meet me you will see that I’m the kind of girl who loves and depends on her people! Mom thinks I would do best in a family with another furkid and with adults who will adore me and help me feel safe. In return I promise to be the most loving companion – and the bestest of friends! So if you are looking for a little cuddle bug who would like to spend most of her day snuggling in someone’s lap, soaking up all the love and companionship I can get, then please ask for me.
