Hello People!

We are Q-Tip and Quincy, a bonded pair of boys lovingly known as the Dynamic Duo. Our Mom says we are handsome and happy bichons who are also the best of friends. Both of us are friendly, VERY affectionate, gentle and incredibly sweet! We are energetic, yet calm, and as loving as any two pups can possibly be.

I, Q-Tip, am the Dad (although I am only two years old) and am protective of Quincy (who is only 8 months old – or is that young?) I’m a wee bit more independent than Quincy and a little more outgoing and social. He’s a pretty typical “little brother type” who thinks that everyone who comes to visit is there to meet him because he’s so cute. You might call him the people dog – but he also mimics everything that I do. (Mom says I’m a good influence though so that’s a good thing!)

Both of us are housebroken (no typo there), learning commands (we already know ‘sit’ and our names!), well-behaved and eager to please. We get along well with Mom’s other pups although we rely on one another. We are mellow and gentle snuggle bunnies who bark initially to greet people, like to cuddle with one another and like to be with our people wherever they are. We are also very easy-going.

We came into rescue having lost our home. Our former owners were bichon breeders however they had no time to care for us’. The good news is that they knew we deserved an amazing forever home and that’s how we became FurKids! We are about to get our first ‘professional’ haircut (I think it’s called a grooming) and we are ready to become even cuter versions of ourselves!

With the love of a wonderful foster Mom and Dad, and a doggy foster brother and sister, we are blossoming. Life is GOOD! We LOVE to run full speed in the backyard, love kids, are learning to enjoy rides in the car, love our walks (!) and can walk pretty far. Mom says there is a bit of a challenge for us to figure out which toys are ‘dog toys’ versus ‘kids’ toys’. We think they all look pretty much alike and we DO like to play with toys! Dad says we are adorable –and that whoever meets us will fall in love instantly!

It’s true that we love each other, other dogs (our size) and people! Our BFK Aunties say that we are a delightful, fun-loving pair who are loving, attentive, smart, friendly and affectionate. We are quick to adapt to new environments, intelligent and looking for a home where we can be together. If that sounds like you please ask for us.

Cuddlesome Q-Tip and Charismatic Quincy

Hello Lads and Lassies,

My name is Georgie Girl and I’m a wee bit of a pup, weighing in at 7 pounds and one year old. (That means I won’t get much bigger and it also makes me a ‘portable.’) Mom says good things come in small packages and I’m quite the package!

Did I mention that I’m still very much a puppy? Although I look a lot like a windup toy, I’m the real deal! I’m a master at belly rubs (getting them, that is) love going on walks and riding in the car (Mom says I’m wonderful!) and I’m so smart that I’m learning about this thing called ‘potty training.’ I’m almost there and I certainly want to please!

Everyone that meets me soon learns that I’m a ‘talker.” I have a lot to say and do so! Mom says I like to ‘announce my presence’! I’m also a barky girl. Mom and Dad are working on that (I’ve only recently become a FurKid) but my new family will need to continue working on that as well. Of course the minute someone picks me up for cuddles I stop barking and give lots of kisses (as you can see I’m training them very well!)

I also LOVE to chew on bones of any kind and enjoy the toys that make that squeaky sound. They’re fun to chew on too!

I’m a healthy and happy little girl who is very sweet and loving too. (Did I mention that being portable is great fun? My foster Dad carries me around in a “pooch pouch” so I get to watch the world while also being with him.)

My relationship with Dad started out a bit awkwardly. I would bark and show him that I was afraid of him (and men in general.) But he has taught me that a gentle and patient man can win me over and that’s exactly what he has done!

I do enjoy playing with other pups as I have lots of puppy energy. My doggy fur brother and I play until I wear him out so another young, active pup would be great to have in my forever home. Mom says I’m fearless even with bigger dogs (well, you can imagine that almost every dog I meet is bigger than little 7 pound me!)

Gregarious and Gallant Georgie Girl

Hello World!

My name is Happy Higgins and, according to everyone who meets me, I’m a triple A: adorable, affectionate and adoring. I’m a 7 year old bichon whose foster Mom says is a LOVE. I love being cuddled, I LOVE being petted and I’m amazing at getting what I want. For example, if you are sitting somewhere and your hand happens to be “available” I believe (and that’s truly believe) that it’s because you want to pet me! So I rub my head and tap my nose on you so that you will know what to do. (Mom says that shows how smart I am, not to mention determined!)

When I’m excited about something (dinner, treat, playtime, bedtime) I will turn in circles, hop like a bunny, and wag my tail. And if that’s not enough, when you speak to me I listen VERY intently, then wag my tail as fast as it will go and (ready for this part?) then I do a whole-body wiggle!. (Mom’s friends find that beyond adorable!)

I love my bully sticks and stick my bum in the air while hunching down on my front legs to chew. When I’m on a walk (another favorite activity), I keep up a brisk pace and wag my tail the entire time. I don’t waste time sniffing anything, but forge ahead with my head up on high alert.

While I love women and other dogs, I’m pretty afraid of men, especially ones with big or loud voices. I’ve been known to cower, hide, and shake. It will take a gentle and patient man to win me over but Mom thinks that is do-able in time.

Because I have very sensitive shoulders and do NOT like my tail to be touched, I would not be a good fit for young children. Older children who understand that are ok.

Now, other things I do well: I do well on a leash, potty like a champ outside and like to ride in the car and am a great navigator. I have to ride upfront though so I’m near you. A doggy car seat is ideal and I will go quietly to sleep. I know “sit”, “stay” and “come” when called. (Mom says that’s really good because a lot of my bichon brethren don’t do that!) I’m also a bit of a chunky monkey at this point but making progress already! My previous owners didn’t understand good nutrition but Mom does – and I’m working hard on becoming a slim, trim version of myself!

So if you are looking for a gentle, sweet, smiley and oh-so-squeezable buddy who wags his tail and wiggles, please ask for me!

Happy and Huggable Higgins

Hello People!

My name is O’mazing Maggie and I’m a wee bit of a girl who loves everyone I meet! Mom says that I’m a sweet, adorable and happy little girl, all puppy love, who is omazingly friendly, affectionate and adorable, too. Dad wants you to know that I’m affectionate, have tons of energy and lots of promise!

If you are wondering what I am besides a darling white fluff, well I’m a malti-poo, about one year old, with soft white hair with some apricot in the back and big brown eyes. Mom says I have a sweet, happy face and that I’m always smiling and wagging my tail. (That’s because life as a FurKid is good!)

I love absolutely everybody – big people (the ones called adults) little people (I’m especially sweet and gentle with kids), and other dogs. I love ‘em all! I’m not so sure about hippopotamuses and giraffes because I haven’t met any yet… but you never know!

I’m playful and joyful and cute and smart and did I mention I like to cuddle and snuggle? Well I certainly do And I want nothing more than to please, so I come when I am called, and that makes Mom happy.

Besides being a champion cuddler, my favorite thing to do in the world is to PLAY! And then play some more! I play with my doggy foster sister (we run, tumble, frolic and have fun!) and my two year old human sister. From the moment I met her (Mom calls her a toddler) I just gave her kisses. (She giggled and loved it.) And I’m not scared at all, even when she is screaming, running or crying! I just try to give her more kisses—or get her to snuggle. (That makes me a pretty special pup and one that would love to grow up with children.)

I ride well in the car, am housebroken (no typo there!) and have no special needs, except for a special buddy to play with and a family to call my own. It would be so much fun to go to training classes with my forever family, so I could become the best furkid that ever was!

Magical and O’mazing Maggie

Hello People!

My name is Vivi and I’m a sweet and quite sassy little girl of five looking for a forever home. My foster Mom says I’m very loving and affectionate — and as feminine as they come. I’m all of 12 pounds, am housebroken (and use the doggy door) and I love my crate. I even put myself to bed at night if I’m tired (but Mom lets me come into the Big People’s Bed in the morning for a cuddle or two or three!)

Dad says I’m a diamond in the rough. He and Mom are doing their best to teach me the proper way to behave in the world. I’m definitely making progress but will need to continue my ‘learning’ with someone who is a super smart and VERY savvy dog person. If that sounds like you, please read on!

While I am long on (good) looks and cute as can be, I’m also pretty willful. I like to do what I like to do (which is why I need someone who is smarter than I am and will guide me into perfect behaviors.)

I walk well on a leash and am learning to relax in the car. I do best on short drives and like to listen to music.

I do love to cuddle and am known for springing up into your lap to cuddle at the slightest provocation and wanting you to pet my head ( but only my head, please!). If you are lying on the sofa, I love to roll on top of you and make cute little “snorty” noises as I turn around.

Unfortunately I’m not a pup that is good around children. If you have children or grandchildren that visit I’m not the one for you. Sorry! I’m an ‘adults-only’ kind of pup. Mom says before I became a FurKid I was adopted simply because I am cute. So I formed some bad habits that she is helping me to overcome. Since I’m smart, I’m definitely learning what to do and not do.

I’m also a bit selective about making friends. I bark when people come to the door (Dad says I’m a great watchdog) but when I know someone, I’m much friendlier. I also guard my toys, which is why I’m best as the only pup in the house.

Because I wasn’t successful in my ‘past life’ I’m hoping to make up for lost time – and am looking for adopters who will appreciate my femininity and my affectionate nature – and will continue to work on my training so I can become the best little girl that I can be. Mom says there is no doubt that I’m well worth the effort but you have to know my signals so that I can be successful.
