Hello People,
My name is Suki and I’m a sweet, sassy and willful little girl of two looking for a forever home. My foster Mom says I’m very loving and affectionate — and as feminine as they come. But that’s not all. I’m also a diamond in the rough. Mom is a trainer and she’s doing her best to teach me the proper way to behave in the world. She says we are making progress but I will need to continue my ‘learning’ with someone who is a super smart, savvy dog person- someone with a lot of training experience. (Not just someone who has had dogs throughout their lives.) . If that sounds like you, please read on!
While I am long on (good) looks and cute as can be, I’m also pretty willful. I like to do what I like to do (which is why I need someone who is smarter than I am and will guide me into perfect behaviors.
I walk beautifully on a leash and like to ride in the car. (Did I mention that I’m a great walking companion too? Well I am –plus people love to stop and admire my cuteness- so whoever walks me gets a lot of attention, I mean exercise, too!)
On my walks, however, I do tend to bark at the dogs who pass us. Mom corrects me with a verbal command so I don’t bark again. That’s one of the reasons that she says I need an experienced owner and one who will show me the best way to behave.
I do love to cuddle and am known to snuggle up to Mom and put my head right under her neck and stay there for as long as I can. That makes me feel very loved and protected – and Mom likes it too.
I’m also not a pup that is good around children. If you have children or grandchildren that visit I’m not the one for you. Sorry but I’m an ‘adults-only’ kind of pup. Mom says I was adopted before I became a FurKid simply because I am cute. The people who adopted me had no dog experience and I got off to a very bad start – so Mom has worked hard to “undo” some of the things that I learned in my previous home.

My Ideal Home:
- Someone home most of the time
- No other FurKids — I like to be the center of attention
- Someone willing to further train me
- Adults only
- NO children or grandchildren
Experience Level:
- Recent dog experience
- Rescue dog experience
- Experience with behavioral issues a real plus
Since I was neglected in my ‘past life’ I’m waiting to make up for lost time – and am looking for a forever family who will appreciate my femininity and my affectionate nature – and will continue my training so I can become the best little girl that I can be. Mom says there is no doubt that I’m well worth the effort.
Because I have a number of on-going training requirements, if you are interested in potentially submitting an application to adopt me, please first send an email indicating the kind of training you have done previously, as well as the types of issues that training has addressed. You may send that email to bfkapplicants@gmail.com. If there is an alignment between what you have done and what I need, a volunteer will be back in touch to ask you to complete an adoption application.
Cuddles and tail wags,
Sweet and Sassy Suki

I also enjoy the company of those two-legged ones called PEOPLE! A mellow home where I can cuddle and snuggle when I’m not playing is what I’m looking for.

I’m Tipper the Terrific, a darling Bichon Havanese of about three (years, that is) who weighs about 14 pounds soaking wet. My foster mom says that good things come in smallish packages and I’m an incredibly cute ‘package.’ (Mom also says I am the sweetest little guy you could ever hope to meet.) Speaking of meeting…I like to meet new people and especially love to meet other dogs. Give me an opportunity to play with another pup and I’m one happy little guy!

As for my brother Donny, Mom says he is a sweet and shy guy whose personality is just now starting to ‘emerge’ and who has the cutest ways about him. Donny is curious about everything and is a first class ‘observer.’ (Mom says he likes to carefully watch the world around him.) He makes great eye contact, has the softest coat you will ever, ever want to pet, is super gentle and loyal with a capital L! Whatever I do, Donny wants to also do. While he is still more shy, with a little bit of coaxing Donny is becoming more brave and confident every day.
Now you’ve probably figured out that we’re both good about the snuggling part. We love to be cuddled separately of course, and to also snuggle with each other. We don’t understand why, other than feeding us, Mom and Dad would want to do anything else!
Hello Everyone!

My name is Lovable Laddie and my Aunties want me to introduce myself because I’m a pretty spectacular pup. Now I’m absolutely not bragging (I would never, ever do that) however everyone that meets me says so!
My foster Mom will tell you that I’m a very handsome and loving mix of either a Bichon and a Doodle or perhaps a Bichon and Cocker Spaniel. Whatever I am, I have silky off white hair (and boy! did I have a lot of it when I was rescued! Why you would think I was a mop in motion then – but I feel a lot more comfortable now.) Mom says when my hair grows out I’ll be quite stylish — and am quite ‘the looker’ even with my new ‘do.’
