Hi People!
I’m Dickens, a playful and gorgeous Bichon boy of not quite two who loves other dogs and people! I’m intelligent, loving, energetic and inquisitive — and I want everyone to know that Life is Good! I love my foster Mom! I love car rides! I love going for walks! And guess what? I love to learn! Every day is filled with new experiences and adventures. I am a very lucky boy!
Mom says that I have the most expressive face, am very smart, and am already housebroken (and that’s not a typo!) I have the cutest way of cocking my head when she talks to me. And I listen intensely because I want to please! While I’m still learning new things, I already respond to my name. (I actually come when anyone calls me) I am learning lots of human words like ‘sit’ and ‘wait.’
Mom says I’m friendly, happy, exuberant (I don’t know exactly what that means, but she says it’s good), playful, and never aggressive. I’m always patient and ready to undertake any new adventure. You might say I’m ready, willing and able to be your adventure partner.
My BFK Aunties say I’m a ‘man-sized bichon’ (about 20 pounds) who likes to cuddle and give doggy kisses. They say that I’m as sweet as I am handsome! I long for the day that I can sleep in the Big People’s bed and have a family of my own to share my joy and love. If that could include a doggy brother or sister to play with my life would be complete. In return, I will do my best to keep everyone smiling and feeling important and loved. (That will be easy for me because whatever family adopts me will be my whole world.)

So if you are looking for a best friend who likes to ride, walk, play and cuddle, then look no further — as I am the pup for the job. Please complete our adoption application so we can meet. In the meantime I’ll be learning new things and practicing how to be the bestest buddy in the world.
Tail wags and bichon kisses,Dapper and Dashing Dickens

I have a doggy foster sister and several doggy foster brothers but I am happiest when I can be the center of someone’s attention. While I can play and fit in nicely with the other FurKids, I can entertain myself equally well. I’m what you call an ‘only,’ which is pretty rare for a bichon, from what I hear.
My hair is growing back soft and silky and white. Soon I’ll be a little white cotton ball of a bichon. Because I’m very confident, I do well meeting new people, I just wag my tail and say ‘Hello’, ready to make new friends. Dad says I have the cutest way of wiggling when I walk too. I almost look like I’m walking sideways ‘cause I my body wiggles so much. (It’s truly adorable to watch!)

We are both potty trained and crate trained. (Dad calls it my ‘man cave’) and I certainly enjoy spending time with those little people called ‘children’. I’m much better with them than Lucy. She prefers being with the ones called ‘adults’. We are also very curious about the world– and how things work. Every day is another opportunity to learn more ways to make the humans around us smile.

Mom says I’m a great walker who loves cool mornings and early evenings. I like to take long walks around the lake –and love meeting people and pups along the way. Going to the dog park is also one of my most special things to do. It truly makes my day! There are always new friends to get to know and both the ones called ‘humans’ and those called ‘pups’ all fall in love with me (The two-legged ones tell Mom and Dad how amazing I am, too!)

My foster Mom says I’m very intelligent (I know commands including come, stay, sit, down, dance (twirl your finger), go potty, down, and ball. In fact, I will definitely become your new best friend if you play ball with me! My foster Dad says to tell you that I LOVE LOVE LOVE to play ball (did I mention that already? Well I truly do!), LOVE to go on walks, LOVE to ride in the car and LOVE treats. And I LOVE to be petted and will roll over for a belly rub any time and anywhere!
I love to cuddle on the couch, greet you with great enthusiasm (even if you only go to the mailbox) share everything you are doing with you and am a great watchdog. I will alert you if I hear anything outside, let you know the doorbell was rung or if there is a strange noise in the house. Dad says that’s very helpful. I’m not a barker though – just an ‘alerter’.
