Hello People!

My name is Lovable, Little Lexi. While I may sound like a little Swedish lass, I’m really a sweet bichon girl of four or five.  I weigh a mere 11 pounds (I watch my figure), and I love my foster Mom and the twins, as well as my doggy foster siblings. Mom says I have the cutest face (Aw, thanks Mom) and that I’m the best cuddler in the universe. (I’m not sure what that means – but I think it has something to do with curling up with her on the bed or couch!)

When I first meet new people I’m a bit shy and cautious. I need some time to get to know newcomers. So a gentle and patient approach is best with me. Then I show them the cute little girl that I can be. I’m also amazingly polite (I almost never bark!) and can be playful.

You see I’m just now learning about these things called toys. Once in a while, I have been known to find a random ball and pounce around chasing it by myself, leaping to and fro. And I’m a very smart little girl, too. I’m working on those things called ‘commands’. I’ve already learned to come when my name is called and am working on the ‘sit’ command. Of course, I am ready to learn more!  

I like to go on walks (they are pretty new to me) and long walks would be wonderful. I also like to go for rides in the car! Every day I get to have new experiences and have learned that I am safe and cherished,

While I love to be loved and cuddled, I’m also mellow and sweet. I do, however, need some activity during the day (Mom says the more walks, the better) and someone to help me continue with my socialization and training. At the end of the day, I curl up next to Mom and my doggy siblings in the Big People’s Bed and sleep quietly all night long.

Loveable Little Lexi

Hi People!

My name is Precious Pixie –and I’m a pretty, sweet, petite and cuddly little bichon puppy about one year old and 11 pounds of playful lovingness! (I’m not sure that’s a word but that’s what I’m all about!)

Dad says that I’m a very happy little girl who is a bit shy at first with new people then warms up and wants to cuddle. I’m learning all about walks and rides in the car (I really like to go in the car but Dad keeps telling me I’m too young and little to drive!) and I’m also learning these things called ‘commands.’ So far I know “come’, ‘sit’, ‘stay’ and ‘no’ (I don’t really like that one!) And since I’m young and curious I did like to take Dad’s shoes from the closet and bring them into my doggy bed. Now I didn’t chew them or anything – I just liked having them in my bed. Well Dad said ‘No’, closed the closet door and that put an end to my “borrowing” his shoes. After that he picked me (so I could lay my head against his chest and snuggle for all I’m worth). And that’s a LOT!

When I’m on my walks and I meet other pups or children I’m sweet and responsive. I sniff the dogs and let the kids pet me. I love to be wherever Dad is or wants to go. I’m as happy to explore everything I see as I am to snuggle and cuddle. There is no doubt that I’m adjusting well to my new surroundings and learning how good it feels to be safe and loved.

*Another active, playful small pup around my age might be nice- or perhaps I can be an only pup (Dad and my BFK Aunties are not sure)
*Another dog to show me the ropes and help me become a good canine citizen

Above all, I’m a sweet little fluff of a girl who wants to completely devote herself to someone. I would benefit from training, as all young dogs do, and would do best in a home where I can receive lots of love and attention. A home with another furkid could be ideal as I can learn a lot from another pup.

Precious, Petite and Pixyish Pixie

Hi People!

I’m a very cute little bichon pup named Darling Darby who is 13 pounds soaking wet and all of about three years young. (Mom thinks soaking wet is pretty funny ‘cause like most FurKids I’m not thrilled being wet!) But when it comes to being friendly and playful, well I excel at that for sure!

My foster Mom and Dad say I’m loving, affectionate, attentive and VERY smart. I listen and REALLY want to please. Why I’ve already learned to come when I’m called (unlike some of my bichon brethren!) and I’ve learned to ‘sit’. I’m definitely smart and want to learn more. I can also be a bit dominant so I need someone who is savvy and knows how to be in charge. You see, I’m not just only a cute bichon!

You may have read about me as well as I have quite a story to tell. You see, I was wandering around the streets of Orange County, trying to stay safe and find something to eat. I was in survival mode and, though I’m smart, I struggled a lot. I couldn’t find much food and what I scavenged wasn’t good for me. I developed what my BFK Aunties called ‘allergies’ and some of my hair fell out. It was not looking good for this little guy and then I got lucky! I found this really nice lady and her teenage kids. They thought I was cute and were worried about me being on the street! They took me to their vet who gave me a ‘good dog check up’ then I went to their home. Soon after that the nice lady had to go to work so I became a FurKid. Now I have good food to eat all the time, doggy foster brothers and sisters to play with, a foster Mom and Dad who are teaching me things and LIFE is GOOD!

I’ve learned to potty outside and to go on walks and rides in the car. I’ve become quite the cuddler too –and love to give doggy kisses. I like to play with toys, run in the yard and am an energetic pup. After a day of playing and entertaining myself with toys, I like to lie on the couch with my foster Dad and snuggle. At night, when it’s time to go to sleep, I go quietly into my crate and sleep all night long.

*A non-dominant dog around my age or I may be okay as the only pup with an active family
*Adults or a family with kids who know how to treat a young pup

Darling and Dashing Darby

Hello World!

I’m Fabulous Finley, a darling bichon puppy who is six months old and as cute as I can be! My foster Mom says I am the most affectionate little guy you could ever hope to meet. I like to meet new people (I’m admittedly a lover!) and especially love other dogs.  Give me an opportunity to play (more on that in a minute) and I’m your guy!

I’m a smart little guy, almost housebroken and eager to learn what is expected of me.  There are so many things that I do well already and, like most puppies, each day there are new things to experience. Did I mention that I’m smart, too? Let me tell you how I learned about those things called “stairs”. Well, I had (obviously) never seen them before and I was a bit distraught when my doggy foster siblings went up the stairs and left me behind! Initially I figured out how to go UP the stairs—however, it took me a while to learn how to go DOWN them. But I figured out a shortcut—sliding down the stairs on my tummy! It got the job done for a while until I learned I could go both UP and DOWN the stairs!

Now, back to toys. Did I mention that I love all toys– but I have a hard time deciding which one to play with first? Mom says my answer to that is that I try to play with all of them at the same time, going from toy to toy. They sometimes migrate outside to the yard because I want to keep my toys with me wherever I am! I also love laying on my back and flinging my toys around, until I accidentally launch one in the air and it lands out of reach.

I love walks and car rides. While I’m Mr. Social Butterfly at home, I’m a bit shy at the dog park but getting better each day. I am basically just a happy, playful, mischievous, friendly and cuddly puppy. I love chasing other pups and being chased by them. I guess you could say I’m “all puppy!”

Oh, and one last thing! I love to give and receive affection. Sometimes I will come up to Mom and lay my head on her knee. After a quick head massage, I then go back to playing with my toys. When I’m sleepy, sometimes I like to be held. When Mom is holding me, I look up, put my head on her chest, and close my eyes for a nap. And when I’m sleeping and I have a good dream I make these cute little squeaky noises! Finley, the Friendly and Fabulous Bichon

Hello New Friends!

My name is Loveable Levi and I’m a sweet and snuggly little guy of four (years that is) who is an affectionate and amazing companion! I am currently in Sacramento, California, and I get along with my doggy foster brother and sister and like being part of a pack. I’m awesome with children (even the very young ones) and love to be near my people (but am never intrusive.) My foster Mom says I have puppy dog eyes that look at you with love – and that I have the ability to ‘materialize’ from almost anywhere if you call my name.

Dad says I’m an athletic, strong, smart and loving little lap dog! (Can you tell he likes me?)

I have an endearing and curious nature, like to explore my environment and am energetic and also playful –and that snuggling is my specialty. Dad and Mom agree: one look at my cute little face and you will fall in love.

Once upon a time, I had a wonderful home with a Mom who loved and took care of me- and I was the happiest pup on earth.  But one sad day, Mom went to Heaven and I was taken to the shelter, which was a pretty scary place for a gentle soul like me. Luckily, my BFK Aunties came and scooped me up, because they could see that I was a great pup who would make a wonderful companion.

I am a long legged colt of a guy who likes to stand on my hind legs. Mom says I look like a prairie dog when I do that. And I do the cutest thing too! You see Mom had the TV on and I heard horses. I stopped what I was doing and started watching – and stayed there in front of the TV just watching and watching and watching the horses! And then I heard a cat meow on Mom’s phone and watched the entire cat video with Mom. She said she has never seen a pup do that! 

Did I mention that I’m healthy and loving and cheerful- and that I like walks (where I can explore the neighborhood? I also love car rides.  Sometimes I curl up and sleep the whole way, and other times, I look out the window and grin. I’m also eager to please. 

At home, I’m the perfect buddy for a snuggle in front of the TV, or a little nap on the sofa.  I stick right by my people and will even put my little paw on my Mom’s hand, so she knows that I’m there for her and ready to be petted at any time. Mom says that having me around is like having a visit from an old friend, who fits right in.

Loveable and Lively Levi

Hi Everyone!

My name is Bewitching Bailey and I’m an amazingly adorable  Bichon mix of three (years, that is) weighing a mere 8 pounds and as cute as I am affectionate! I’m definitely “cuddle-sized” and all about loving my people. I also love walks and rides in the car. In fact, I am the world’s best companion! Well, that is unless you are a giraffe, a hippo or a tiger. I wouldn’t want to be your companion then. (Mom says I’m being a little silly but she knows what I mean!)  

I’m a lot of fun – a little guy who is a dancer (more on that later) housebroken (that is NOT a typo!), friendly, feisty, playful and protective. Despite my small size I firmly believe that I have to protect my foster family from anyone and anything. Although Dad says I’m a total sweetheart, if I hear a noise outside at night I go into ‘guard dog mode’ as I want to keep everyone inside safe! You can tell that I’m a bit of a character. 

Oh and did I mention that I’m S-M-A-R-T? Well, Mom has this thing she calls a routine. It all started when one of my doggy foster brothers needed something called ‘remedial potty training.’ It goes like this: We dogs go outside and do our business. Then when we come inside we get a TREAT! Well it took me no time at all to figure out how to do that, you can bet! Since I was already housebroken I figured I could go to the head of the class, I mean line. Oh, and take one of my slower doggy foster brothers treats while I’m there. Well, Mom is pretty smart too… so now I have to wait until they have gotten their treats before I get mine (but Mom thinks I’m pretty clever for figuring that out so fast! And Dad does too!)

Now, as for dancing—well I do that for treats too! I’m so darn adorable that the sight of me standing on my legs, twirling around and smiling usually gets me exactly what I want! Other things that I do that Mom and Dad love are that I follow them around like a shadow, give lots of kisses, am energetic but pretty chill most of the day. And when it comes to playing, I can chase my tail (and I will catch it one of these days too. I’ve come very, very close already!)

During the day I like to sleep either next to you on the couch or in my bed near you while you work. And after a day of playing and chilling, I sleep with Mom, Dad and their pups in the Big People’s bed and am quiet all night long.

*Perhaps another young FurKid, although I am a bit ‘selective’ as to which pups I like. I do curl up with both my doggy foster brothers however I also need a lot of attention.*
