Meet Awesome Arthur. This gorgeous bichon boy loves to walk, ride in the car, is good with other dogs, cats, and strangers. He is a gentle and sweet boy with a birthday coming up next month. On Valentine’s Day, Arthur will begin his eighth year and we know this will be the best one yet!
As a result of a recent relocation Arthur, his owner and her Yorkie are now living in an apartment. The Yorkie has become very territorial and gentle Arthur is not good at defending himself. He has, however, lived with a bossy female for seven years so we know he likes canine companionship. We just want to be sure that it’s the ‘right kind’ of companionship.

If you have room in your heart and home, have another sweet FurKid who likes a companion, please be in touch with marti@bichonfurkids.org and ask for Awesome Arthur.

Rylee will have orthopedic surgery January 10th which will enable her to move freely and live a normal life. She has shown her foster family that she’s an adaptable sweetheart who likes other dogs and people – and quickly fit right in!

Our BFK Aunties says that I, Buddy, am the quintessential bichon. I have gorgeous brown eyes, love to be petted, have my head scratched and do a great pattycake, while standing on my back legs. I’m a bit more confident than Patty and very eager to please. I don’t know any commands yet but am willing to learn. I’m curious about the other dogs we meet on our walks but have had very limited exposure to any outside of Patty.
Now, as for Patty: he is as cute as they come and an amazing listener! Mom says he flips his ears up when he’s listening, usually accompanied by tilting his head. He looks simply adorable – and obviously wants to please. Mom is trying to build his confidence as he’s curious about a lot of things but very lacking in experience of the real world!
Our Ideal Home MUST Have:
The holidays are always a time of juggling. These boys are good with children, adults and love to ride in the car. They miss being walked and held.
Please open your hearts and homes to Patrick and Buddy. They are a bonded pair ages 2 and 3 whose Mom has cancer. She has spent a month in the hospital and is entering hospice care. Her daughter works several jobs and is doing her best. These boys currently live in a crate while the daughter works as their mom is too weak to care for them.
Unfortunately, Woofy’s owner’s son really hit a gasket over this incident. He placed his mum in the hospital (he stated she had some other stuff going on) and then attempted to abandon Woofy at his vet’s. When the vet called him on it, he picked Woofy up and brought him to a shelter and specifically requested they euthanize him.
Woofy was in the shelter person’s office this morning with her little gremlin bulldog who comes to work with her, and he did great with her. He’s just a gentle guy who doesn’t really understand what the heck went wrong over the past few weeks.
